I thought the walk to the corner cafe would kill me, but I figured I needed the exercise. The walk took about ten minutes. I once could do it in around two minutes.

Breakfast was great. I had a western omelet and home fries with orange juice, coffee, and toast. Phil had the eggs Florentine. I really like him, a former dancer with the Alvin Ailey Troupe, andf I think he, Doug, and I will be a great team.

And The Baker's Wife! I used to see him in The Drama Book Shop. He was always very friendly, and we talked opera. At one point he was going off to play Alfred in a production of Die Fledermaus. His daughter was not well liked.

Re Sorvino, it just happens that this evening I'm seeing Goodfellas for my first time ever - complete, straight through.

Certainly I've seen clips over the years, but that movie and I never managed to be in the same place at the same time. Tonight I'll have the chance to rectify that at the Bedford Playhouse.
