And this morning, I remembered that today is my cousin Debra Bledsoe Mims' 67th birthday!

So, I got in my car and drove to Edgefield. I parked in her front yard and walked around to her back porch.

And there she sat, drinking a cup of coffee.

She laughed and said she sure was glad she had put on some clothes!

And then I begged a cup of coffee from her.

We talked a couple of hours, and then I told her I had a little something for her in my car. I fetched the box and brought it to her. She could read the side of the box: KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker.

She was so thrilled I was nearly beside myself. I had wondered whether to give it to her, but I knew she might like it. She couldn't WAIT to make some ice cream with it.

After 11 a.m., I left and stopped at the post office before coming home.

I snoozed in my recliner for a while and spent the rest of the day watching TV and talking with a friend on the phone.

I have an 8:30 a.m. quarterly visit with my VA doctor tomorrow.

After that, I have entered the GPS instructions into my phone to take me to Krispy Kreme.

I have been craving Krispy Kremes for several weeks. This is one less than a mile from my VA clinic, so it won't be much out of my way.

And I do love 'em now and again.
