Watching Mercy Street. The cretinous Confederate criminal is named William Griffin, which just so happened to be Dad’s name.

It’s raining slightly, but there is thunder happening out there.

We stopped at a T-Mobile store to consolidate lines...  I'm porting over my number from Verizon onto the DH's account. We upgraded phones for both of us, too.

All well and good, but we were there for 3+ hours waiting for the new phones to replicate our old phones. We finally aborted when we realized we were going to miss our dinner date with friends, so we'll have to go back tomorrow and start the whole process over again.

First-world problems, I know.

Groan.  Vibes it doesn't take as long tomorrow.

Elmore, so sorry about your fall! I'm glad to hear, though, that you were able to walk the hallway today.

Do you still have a physical therapy benefit on your insurance? A PT might be able to help with balance, gait, and also getting up from a fallen position.

Screenplay must conform to the norm.
Audience will be confused.
Everything must be in order as expected.
Suggestions are improvements.

I am always surprised (but shouldn't be) by how much better the world looks when I clean my eyeglasses.

I've often had the same reaction. Think your eyes are failing? Clean your glasses.

I’ve been impressed at how falling is such a concern in the medical profession these days, once one reaches “a certain age”. It’s practically the first thing they ask about at doctors offices. “Do you have concerns about falling?”

Ugh! At Cedars they give you a whole page of questions in GIANT PRINT about that. I find it offensive. "How many times have you fallen in the past year?" But asked over and over in different ways. Once you hit 65 you're gaga and lose all your brain cells. A physical assessment, performed by a PT or osteopath, would make sense, but not lumping all seniors together.

I have greatly enjoyed the few times I’ve gone out to something after those months of lockdown. I’m still careful in taking precautions, but it’s just great to be out and helping in some small way to keep things alive.

I, too, have a newfound enjoyment in getting out.

DR ELMORE that's scary - the fall....  I finally threw away the pair of shoes I was wearing both times I fell this year.  They were a bit large and I think that had something to do with it.

That's an interesting observation. I hope that ends the problem.

I haven't fallen, but I've been a little unsteady on my feet at times lately. I have a couple of tight muscles in my left leg that have been affecting my gait. I have a great lead on a new massage therapist, but she's taking a month-long vacation and won't return for a couple weeks yet. I know I'll need a lot of work once she returns.

I finished cleaning out the main floor of the garage. It’s hot out there, and I am a puddle of sweat.

I'm impressed with your progress. And envious.

Is your garage multi-storied?

I shelved a few boxes of books. But I also got together a couple of boxes for the library.

Does your library have book sales? Otherwise, they may need to add a new wing.

First-world problem, but I have to wonder if the process can't be streamlined. Someone at Best Buy once advised me to do an update on my phone before bringing it in, because they don't have very good wi-fi and the process would take several hours. As it happened, I switched to Consumer Cellular, which is located in a Target, and the process was very fast. I had done the advised update, but I also don't keep much on my phone and I'm sure that helped.

I did a first pass on cleaning out the refrigerator today. I'm forever cleaning it out -- or so it seems -- so how does so much accumulate? I was able to get a lot done before the kitchen became too hot for human habitation.

Did some cleaning, too, and am making decisions about which clothing items are candidates for the consignment shop.

99 here today and 102 expected tomorrow. AC and fans aren't enough to sufficiently cool this little apartment. Given climate change, I think we have to expect more of these extremes.

Before getting my new phone Keith's cousin did an update, and other stuff, making it easy for the Best Buy consultant to transfer everything to my new phone.
