After checking on a fire in California near a friend I decided to look at all the fires in Washington & Oregon.

This was the sun as I drove to the theater this afternoon:

It was hazy from the smoke from fires that were not too far away.

With the entire rest of the day being MINE, all MINE, I walked out on the deck with the last remaining fistful of ground beef in the fridge, to grill a hamburger. I'd been out and about earlier, but I had no idea what a heavenly day it really was. We are in that time of year that, if it were like this all year, we'd be in heaven. Because there would be so damned little to have to deal with. And right there was my answer to the TOD. The temperature was around 85, but it felt like, I dunno, 80? And very very low humidity. Right now there's perfect equilibrium between indoors and outdoors. Bloody PERFECT. It doesn't get better than this.

So please excuse the messy deck and the second grill that doesn't work and the cleanup that's waiting to be done all around the place. I was out there in my shorts and bare feet and could literally have sat down and fallen asleep right there. It's a rare day. And, as such, heaven.
