I have great gaps in my cultural knowledge. I have never seen the movie Carrie, nor The Exorcist.
Carrie is one good movie; I think it's much better than the novel, which I cannot always say about Stephen King adaptations. I was lucky to have seen the OBC Carrie, one of the really epic, misconceived disasters I've ever endured. I place it right in front of the dreadful Moulin Rouge for shit shows. Yet, Carrie failed and Moulin Gouge the Audience endures.
Stephen King thought the movie was better than the book, too. Or maybe that was the ending he was talking about.
Anyhoo, having learned as much as I could about the original Broadway production, I totally envy all who saw it. I have three local friends who did, too, and I have seen the VHS videos. Epic, indeed.
DR Elmore, do you know if the scores and/or parts survived, and whether they're accessible? I recall having a copy of what I think was a simple piano score, and it's long gone somehow. I am very curious to see whatever there is.
