She is sadly too typical of some of today's actors. If she'd given this interview twenty years ago she would have been fired from the show and that would have been applauded. She would never have worked again. But, she's getting lots of action on Twitter, where she's even more offensive, and that's clearly what she craves - she basically says that about Instagram followers in the interview. I would never enter a theater where this person was doing whatever it is she actually does.

That interview is shocking but not surprising in today's climate.....the response was kind of like the judge speaking to Darrell Brooks aka ?

I am seeing several sports announcers and commentators wearing suit jackets and sports coats without lapels and collars.

It is a most interesting look.....no tie usually.....I guess this is a coming thing.  We shall see.

DR RON PULLIAM if there is a community theatre group in your area, you might attend a couple of shows and see how organized they are.  If they seem to have it together, you can audition for a show or volunteer to run the lights or sound......talk about increasing your social time - it will be surprisingly fun.

And you will meet folks with similar interests.  Donate $25 or so and get on the mailing list.....get them familiar with your face and name.

And before you know it, you'll be playing Alfred Doolittle or Colonel Pickering in My Fair Lady!

There is an article in Vulture with a young actress who's in the current thing on B'way, 1776. She gives one of the most ignorant and horrid interviews you will ever read. And, of course, a few people defend her "speaking her truth." I don't know who on earth would hire such a person, certainly I would not. Just search Vulture and 1776 and you'll find it easily. The co-director of the show made a scathing response.

Here it is...if anyone wants to read it:

1776’s Sara Porkalob Has Some Notes.

The actress behind the musical’s most explosive number on bringing a “dusty, old thing” to Broadway and the mistakes made along the way.

Watching Martha Stewart's gardening show, and learning that her family came from Kos.

This sentence in the Vulture article is MOST telling;

It’s also inviting our audiences to consider how our country was founded without the consideration of people like our cast in mind.

Never mind that most of the racial makeup of the people this references weren't founding the country.  Weren't even IN the country.  Only the slaves were considered and that was a major part of 1776.

And NONE of the founders were non-binary, thank you.

Today I watched three (count 'em 3) movies:

First, I watched "Hocus Pocus 2" on Disney+.  The three returning ladies were terrific.  They've hardly aged, noticeably, since the 1993 film.  Otherwise, it's pedestrian kiddy fare, IMO.

Next, I watched "The Langoliers" on YouTube.  This is the Stephen King TV movie from 1995.  I enjoyed it back then, and it's still very entertaining.  Poor Dean Stockwell plays a character he just doesn't have the flair for.  He tosses off some "dear boy" endings to some of his comments and it doesn't ring true at all.  Bronson Pinchot is absolutely mesmerizing.

And last, I watched "John Carter", also on Disney+.  I guess I'm one of the very few who find the movie extremely well made and entertaining.  It has a wonderful music score by Michael Giacchino, and it's beautifully produced.  Sets, costumes, special effects, photography are all first-rate.

I spent my evening watching the Clemson Tigers play the Florida State Seminoles.  Clemson won 34-27.  Their lead with five minutes left in the game was 34-14, so the Seminoles fought very hard toward the end to close the gap.

Openly admits to only giving a 75% performance, and is quite pleased with that.
Must be awfully chilly in the dressing room.
