Former DR JMK and I met on EBAY where we were generally trying to outbid each other on Frances Farmer items.....we began an email exchange and sending and trading and sharing items back and forth.  He had written a great blog on Frances and exposing the author of a popular biography of the actress as the fraud he is.....

Then he started asking me trivia questions that I would answer as best I could.  I finally asked him where he was getting them - and he pointed me to HHW - which was then in its previous form.

MR BK - I had read his book Benjamin Kritzer just because I saw the cover on Amazon and was intrigued.....had such a terrific writing style and all of the denizens were so bright and funny.....I joined in.

Now that I think about it, this was in 2003....so I may have begun as Jrand53.....

I immediately found out that each of the Kritzerland books had a CD created for it....and so I asked MR BK for the one for Benjamin Kritzer and it was in my hands in a few days.....most enjoyable.

I think I may have been the first to refer to another poster as DR - shorthand for Dear Reader......but I have no verficata of it.

I have enjoyed HHW daily....and missed a week or so when I was in the hospital in 2017 for surgery for cancer.

The patented HHW vibes were most helpful in my successful recovery, I am sure.

One western state (Montana?) had an amendment on its ballot asking if it should be mandatory for the state to feed babies born alive!!!???!!!???!!!

The vote was an overwhelming NO from 67% of the 400,000-plus who voted.  I find it extremely difficult to accept that this state has two senators!!!!  There are only 1 million citizens in Montana, yet their senators get the same say as states with 45 million citizens.

In 1938, this night was the beginning of Kristallnacht, a Nazi event I'm sure every MAGA moron would like to celebrate.

Local theater’s next season includes Ragtime, Grease, Into the Woods and Kinky Boots. Very odd lineup to me.

Parakeet gender is told - after a certain age - by the color of their nostrils above the beak.

Priscilla has WHITE - ELVIS has blue.....it is usually not abundantly evident until about three months or so....

Interesting.  Now how do you avoid babies?

Play Tom Cruise movies. That’ll kill any amorous feelings.

I said the other day that I didn’t like any Michael Mann movies. I have to retract that. I really like Thief. I think it has career-best acting from James Caan, Tuesday Weld, Willie Nelson and Robert Prosky.

On November 15, 2001 I was searching for Bruce's new, to me, work number to give to Penny.  She was moving to Los Angeles and I suggested she contact him.  Fortunately I had his home number since sadly the new work number was no longer.

If my conversation with Penny had been six days earlier I would have missed HHW.

What were the odds that the day I found HHW Bruce just happened to mention my friend Susan Gordon and ask "I wonder where she is today and what she’s doing. If anyone knows, have her call me".

Of course I had to post to tell Bruce.  Then I contacted Susan for permission to connect them.

The election results were just about what I expected: some disappointments for Democrats, but no red wave. I was sorry that Tim Ryan didn't win; I thought he might pull it off.

I saw the optometrist yesterday. He is very thorough. Most eye exams are an hour or less. He spent about two hours with me -- and I didn't even have many questions! I'm glad to have found him. The sunglasses he made for me last year are wonderful!

I now have a couple days to try to catch up on all the other stuff I'm behind on.

Where does it all come from?
