Listening to John Williams' score for The Fabelmans. I'm sure I'll enjoy the film, but there are so many coincidences here that it just makes me laugh after a while. We sent Mr. Spielberg Benjamin Kritzer back when it came out - nothing. Then twenty years later he makes a film about his childhood and gives the character based on his mother my mother's real name, Mitzi. Odds? She's clearly mentioned in the dedication of Benjamin Kritzer. Don't know if there'll be any other coincidences in the actual film. Then I listen the the first cue of The Fabelmans, solo piano (later there's a guitar/harp version) and it's quite similar to the piano music I wrote for In My Mind's Eye's love theme and main theme - I'm sure no one's heard my stuff, but still, it's fascinating to me. Anyway, it's a very short score and I'm sure works fine in the film. It sounds like a cross between Benjamin Kritzer and Cinema Paradiso.
