The first couple of reviews of Some Like It Hot have been interesting. They love the show, except for the score. Variety called Sugar’s score better. Considering that Sugar was one of the worst reviewed scores that Styne-Merrill produced, it has certainly won fans over the years. I always loved Sugar, and I love it even more since BK cleaned up the sound.

I’m also relieved to hear from DR Jeanne and glad she’s arranged for some to check on her tomorrow.  That was good advice from the nurse.

Finished White Noise. A little too cutesy in that "today" way - every character sounds the same and on it goes for over two hours, only to cut to the end credits, which is a faux musical number - not sung by the cast, but doing supermarket choreography.

With credits so small and jammed at the top and bottom of the frame that you literally cannot read them.

In an article on the best things to add to mac and cheese, the list includes kale and green beans. Wtflock?

No paprika?

Now listening to the Kritzerland CD of The Counterfeit Traitor. It's funny - I never listen to our CDs - I should.

I’m not sure I know what supermarket choreography is. Sounds like a Cole Porter song: I’m full of the ol’ paprika … on Aisle 8.

Thinking about a snack but I don't really have anything here except popcorn and chips and dip. Can't do the latter tonight, and really don't feel like popcorn.

The lunch meal was actually not terrible, calorie-wise. I just looked up all its components - certainly not over eight hundred.

Dead for a Dollar was old-fashioned in the best sense. Not great. But highly enjoyable.

Alfred Newman sure could write a score. I remember that this one was not easy to sequence, but it's quite a good listen. And the sound is excellent. The recording was excessively dry, so we added a touch of room reverb, which really helped.

Thank you, Ginny, Jane, and Singdaw for your concern.

I called Nurseline and spoke to an RN about my incident today. I don't think it warrants an ER visit, but I thought it best to talk to someone knowledgable. I don't have any of the warning signs except a sore head, but she asked me to have a friend call and check on me. I've arranged that and tomorrow I'll call my PCP. I already had an appointment scheduled with him for this Wednesday, but if I'm worse I'll try to see him tomorrow. I woke up this morning at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep, so I was feelling somewhat out of it to start with. I shall rest and make use of a pack of frozen peas.

I am paranoid about open doors. My DH's high school classmate died after standing up and hitting her head on a kitchen cabinet  that had been left open.

Oh, my goodness.  That's terrible. :(

TCB do you have someone who can install a new alarm for you?

Yes, the daughter of the woman across the way who has been so helpful as offered to install all new ones for me. She is now living with her mother and currently does not have a job. They have been very good about looking after me, and both felt terrible that they turn their phones off before they go to bed so they didn’t hear my fire alarm story until the next day.
