Craig woke up feeling crappy, and his heat was out.  I was impressed though that someone was there by 10:00 and repaired it by 12:30.  Of course when you are sick that is a long time, still faster than most get repairs done this time of year.

Made it to Christmas Eve services and back, but many of the roads were sheer packed ice. It was really scary.

At these temps, the de-icing chemicals don't really work on the roads. And of course, most people drive like damned fools.

Glad he has heat.

Church was nice. Bells sounded good.

Finished Carol for Another Christmas. Very strange. Peter Sellers showed up as a proto-Trump character and head of the ME movement.

But all the carols were sung, and Silent Night was accompanied by a darkened church with candles passed around.

We watched Glass Onion tonight. While a agree with BK's assessment, there was still lots to enjoy. And, DR Jane, it is not necessary to have watched the first movie to enjoy this one.

I am of course hoping the dreaded call does not come in the next few days.....about someone who attended the party testing positive.

Well, we got the call that one of the actors in Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol caught Covid! :o

Everyone else has also tested negative, so that's good.

I am glad everyone who has to go out tonight is getting home safely.

Yes the roads are deceptively treacherous....and yes people drive like idiots.

I am watching some DVDs, etc.

I watched Spoiler Alert which is a kind of LOVE STORY for the gay 21st century.  It is nice and certainly the medical details are correct  as I can attest from personal experience.

Everyone does a nice job.  I have not read the book.

Jim Parsons is not a BAD actor, but his face is so......but his face....it is hard to watch sometimes.  I am glad I did not see this on the BIG SCREEN.

At halftime I’ll make tomorrow’s pecan pie and after dinner I’ll assemble a Christmas morning breakfast casserole.  Then I’m going to quit cooking for a while.

What a coinkydink!  My mom bought a pecan pie for today.  It was quite delish.

Merry Christmas to everyone here at HHW.  I might fall asleep in a bit and I don't want to miss wishing everyone a happy holiday.

I am back home from my do at Debra's.

We had chili and chicken-and-dumplings...and both were made using my Uncle Rock's recipes.  My cousin Chad made the chili and said he was told he had to use his grandpa's recipe.  The only problem: Rock's recipe didn't say how much of anything he put into it. He tested it as he went along!

I never had any issues with Rock's chili or his chicken-and-dumplings, but I was never wild about them, either.  Oh, well.

The present opening was a trip...the little girls had more toys than I have seen at one time...and that's just from the relatives.  I cannot imagine what their "Santa Claus" will be like.  Of course, both got exactly the identical gift from each relative...this family does everything like that.  And whatever one girl opens, the other one wants it to the exclusion of hers that is just like it.

They are four months apart and not yet 2.

"A Christmas Carol" is on TCM  right now.  It's the Reginald Owen version.

I prefer the Alistair Sim, but that is on Fox Movie Channel which I no longer get as it was removed from my lineup earlier this year for some unknown reason.  I can get it back by purchasing another package of some sort, but I shan't!
