While Holiday Inn has some great dancing, the blackface is problematic, obviously, and there is just an underlying meanness to the story line which I found off-putting.

And I’m the exact opposite. I find the color of White Christmas too garish, especially the minstrel number. And the finale is a monument of bad taste. I love Vera Ellen. Rosemary Clooney is very good. The rest feels tired and third rate.

Yes.  I had one of those long ones, so I didn't have to get my hand too close, but it's otherwise just a regular lighter...not a high temp torch.
