Rodzinski:  A group of five of us pigged out at Richie's during lunch.  And while the dim sum was scrumptious, there were many people there and some of the food leaving the kitchen was just too incredible not to gawk at and drool over.

DR td is also represented in SCARLET STREET.

Off to the Wednesday re-opening of I'LL BE BACK BEFORE MIDNIGHT....wishing for lots of people in the audience...and lots of scares!

Adding some additional thunder & lightning tonight...it couldn't hurt!

JMK - drive your Edsel to the service station and have them put you up on the lift...that's what Frances would do.

I'm in a song writing mood.

Darling, remember
At the end of the day,
My love for you
Is just a whip crack away.
Why must we keep hurting each other?

Once upon a time, there was a plumber named "Whip" who apprenticed 8 years of his life under his father, and then he took over the family business.

Whip was a strapping young man, but as he grew older he began resembling his father and uncles more and more, putting on a gut.

As such things go, Whip worked exclusively in jeans and t-shirts and would sometimes show a bit of butt crack when he was hunched over some pipes.

The older he got, the bigger he got, until one day, a customer called Whip's son, who was also studying to take over the family business, and asked him if there wasn't something he could do to hide "Whip's crack away."

Thank you DR Ron

Other Western themes:  "High Chaparrel" "Bonanza" that often  get played here on radio. "Ballad of Paladin" (Duane Eddy version) too.

There was TV show made in OZ in the early 60's called "Whiplash" It starred Peter Graves. The theme was big hit here. "Whiplash" is also a song recorded by the wonderful Mr Gene McDaniels who has a new album released about now.

I thought it was Doris Day who put in that call to the plumber's son. Of course he was  known for being somewhat "deadwood" at that stage.

Td?  Oh, you mean that guy who used to come around these here parts?  Haven't seen him in months.

Back from storage.  Couldn't find the music I was looking for, but thankfully found the lyrics and a tape of the song.

"Whip's crack away
"Whip's crack away
"Whip's crack away!"

Oops!  It never occurred to me that this might also be someone's "life" style!

I am rather disappointed to see that Kevin Spirtas' show is only playing for two days...I was hoping it would be playing when I come down to L.A. at the end of the month  :(

Ah....Asa.  OLTL's answer to JR Ewing.

I remember the lovely Taina Elg as Olympia Buchanan.  It seemed that at one point they had half the original cast of NINE on OLTL.

I remember Al Freeman Jr. and Ellen Holly.  I remember Farley Granger.  I remember Jennifer Harmon, Doris Belack and the ORIGINAL Doran Cramer, Nancy Pinkerton.  I remember George Reinholt and Jackie Courtnay.

I remember Viki

I remember sky!

All the cabaret shows in that venue are two nights only.  Kevin is just starting to get other bookings now.

Well, tell him to book himself at the Burbank Hilton, will you.

Perhaps Dawn Wells will be appearing on stage during my stay.

Is that the fabulous Bobby Sherman singing "Seattle?"  If so, I LOVE that song!

Pardon me?  In this part of the country, we preferred Perry Como's version.

Good Afternoon!  Good Evening!

I'm back from auditions and callbacks.  I was actually kept a bit busier today, so I wasn't able to post from the audition space.  But it was a good day.  Next stop: New York for auditions sometime in the next couple of weeks...

Perhaps we'll have a mini-hainsies/kimlets get-together whilst MBarnum is in LA.

I only know the version by Perry Como.  I don't know if the TV show aired here. I doubt if I had ever heard of Seattle before I heard Perry singing about it. I knew of Tacoma of course.

I meant to mention that Ford's was holding their auditions at the new Woolly Mammoth Theatre space.  It's an amazing space.  You enter on the street level, then take a set of stairs down to the theatre proper - as well as classrooms, rehearsal space and offices.  It has that hip and edgy concrete and steel look - which is very appropriate for the theatre company.

And the new space is also a perfect example of the private and public sector coming together in support of the Arts.  I forget the exact arrangement, but for now, Woolly is only paying $1.00(!!!!) a year(!!!!) for their rent.

...And now that their new building is done, there are just five other major theatre renovation and building projects left in DC...

As for the Topic of the Day, I've never really been one for Westerns, so...

However...

While sitting in on one of those piano festival/recitals/workshops featuring new music for students, I heard a great piano duet version of the theme from "The Wild, Wild West", as well as "Ghost Riders In The Sky".  And then there was a Two-Piano, Eight Hands (a double duet) arrangement of the Hoedown from Copland's "Rodeo".  Those were fun.

Today is both National Ice Cream Day and National French Fries Day.

But you don't have to eat them together if you don't want to.   :P ::)

Hey?!?!?  I thought every day was National Ice Cream Day!

I wonder if, in all of his years of screen acting, that Johnny Depp ever imagined that his likeness would one day appear on a candy bar wrapper.

...Or on the package for those "new" Hostess filled cupcakes with the purple icing and purple filling - I saw them at Target yesterday.  I don't mind purple food... but that particularly shade of purple is just a little too man-made even for me to consider consuming.
