I think MR BK put his finger right on why I am not enjoying to the utmost the HBO Perry Mason.....the character is weak.

Perhaps the idea from the beginning was to do a woke DELLA show, but not many folks would watch that - so we got pulled in.

There is a new episode every Monday night - and there have been three this season so that's all that is available until next Monday.

Doing a woke DELLA show takes the fun out of their flirting, and wondering if there is something between Della and Perry or not.

When I asked it to write a poem about water in the style of Sondheim, the results were much farther amiss:

Sure, here is a poem about water in the style of Steven Sondheim:

Water

Water, water, everywhere,
But not a drop to drink.
The ocean's vast and deep,
But it's not for us to keep.

Water, water, falling from the sky,
But it doesn't last long.
It's gone before we know it,
And then we're back to drought.

Water, water, so essential to life,
But we take it for granted.
We waste it and pollute it,
And then we wonder why we're thirsty.

Water, water, we need you so,
But we don't know how to care for you.
We're destroying you with our greed,
And soon you'll be gone forever.

Water, water, we beg you,
Please don't leave us.
We need you to survive,
And we're so sorry for the way we've treated you.

Water, water, we promise to change.
We'll be more careful with you,
And we'll never take you for granted again.

Water, water, we love you.
Please don't leave us.

I don't think this would have made it past his wastebasket.

I just had my first disastrous Amazon Fresh delivery. I think there's a shopping bag with 5 or 6 of my items sitting in another apartment or swtill sitting at Amazon. And when the ice cream arrives and it isn't frozen, someone at Amazon is not packing frozen items very securely.

No!!  Not the ice cream!! :o

Ice cream soup. Not my favorite.

I have this memory of a Partridge Family episode where they had to turn off the power for a while for some reason and they're sitting around the dinner table in the dark and Laurie had the line, "Shut up and drink your ice cream." ;D

I asked Google's new AI client, "Bard," to comment on Stephen Sondheim's influence on American musical theater.

I got this response:

Stephen Sondheim was one of the most influential composers and lyricists in American musical theater history. His work helped to shape the modern musical, with its complex plots, challenging lyrics, and sophisticated melodies. Sondheim's musicals were often about difficult subjects, such as loneliness, alienation, and the dark side of human nature. He also experimented with new forms and styles, such as the concept musical and the opera. Sondheim's work has been praised by critics and audiences alike, and his musicals have been produced all over the world.
Here are some of the ways in which Stephen Sondheim influenced American musical theater:He pushed the boundaries of what was considered possible in musical theater. Sondheim's musicals were often about difficult subjects, such as loneliness, alienation, and the dark side of human nature. He also experimented with new forms and styles, such as the concept musical and the opera. This helped to broaden the appeal of musical theater and make it more accessible to a wider audience.

 • He created some of the most iconic songs in musical theater history. Sondheim's songs are known for their clever lyrics, complex melodies, and emotional resonance. Some of his most famous songs include "Send in the Clowns," "Something's Coming," and "Ladies Who Lunch."
 • He helped to popularize the concept musical. A concept musical is a musical that tells a story through a series of songs, rather than through dialogue. Sondheim's musicals, such as "Company" and "Follies," are often considered to be examples of concept musicals.
 • He helped to revive the American opera. Sondheim's musicals, such as "Sweeney Todd" and "Into the Woods," are often considered to be operas. Sondheim's use of song and dance helped to make opera more accessible to a wider audience.
 • Stephen Sondheim's legacy on American musical theater is immense. He helped to shape the modern musical, and his work continues to inspire and entertain audiences around the world.

I'd never read/heard that Into the Woods was considered an "opera." :-\
