We finished PBS's new iteration of Tom Jones last night, and agree with everyone else's lukewarm reviews.

Amen to all that, Rodzinski.

Here in Johnston, the only channel anyone seems to watch is Fox News.   Absolutely revolting.  Their brains are being eaten away with that hate-mongering.

Yet, they remain quite civil when the subject isn't politics.  I get quite amused when I am around relatives.  They will huddle up and talk low when I am around.  They talk about the latest conspiracy theory or news flash they have heard.  My mom informed them years ago that I was a proud Democrat and that I voted for "that" Obama person.

Funny item:  When Obama won the first time, our capitol's newspaper, The State, ran a huge banner headline on page 1 -- HISTORY MADE -- with a color photo of the new first family under it.

A lot of subscriptions were cancelled that day.   That included my aunt and uncle who lived across the street.  Later on, however, subscriptions were reinstated because The State is one of three respected newspapers in SC.

Indiana wasn’t conservative enough (!) for my sister and her husband so they moved to Tennessee. My poor mom, who came over from the dark side later in life is stuck living with them and their non-stop raging Fox.

Two of my sisters have said NYET to GREASE tonight.....so there you are.

I really wouldn't go, but some of the kids in the show are really nice and deserve some support.  Kids who listen when others speak or ask questions of folks who have done theatre.

So....for them.  I probably will have an okay time.....but this time next week it will almost be over!

I am now four stops away, so Amazon Fresh is averaging a stop every 6-7 minutes.

I wonder if they do this in Canada.

I do quordle everyday (it's wordle but with 4 words). But I'm obsessed with quordle sequence. You have to get the first word before you can start on the second. It's my favorite word game.

Were I nearby, JRand, I would gladly accompany you.  We could guffaw quietly behind our hands and enjoy ourselves immensely.

Isn't it strange how school kids can bring out the family no matter how awful the productions are!!

DR Rodzinski:  I commiserate with your mother.  The land of Quayle and Pence was no picnic, but it was not a bad place to live.

Tennessee is the home of Al Gore, who could not carry his state in 2000.  And the right-wing movement there is a return to a post-McCarthy 1950s.

DR Jane:  Brian showed me photos of his favorite places in and around Tumwater where, he said, he used to enjoy walking and playing as a kid.  Now there is garbage and homeless sheds, etc.  He said the county government refuses to do anything about it.

One thing I have always found true:  Right-wing extremists over-dramatize their grievances.

I miss TCB! I would love to talk about this with him.
There was a cat, Jenny, who was the Titanic’s cat. She had her kittens onboard in Belfast. When they got to the stop that was to head to New York, she took her kittens off the boat and did not go back on.  You can read about her below...or by googling cat on Titanic.

It isn't good here either, and driving to Portland we can see all the camps along the side of the freeway.

As the left extremist increased we became more middle of the road.  Now, the priority is to stop the right wing extremist :(
