I think my "hate" commercial now with lyrics to a famous song is the one about Colo-guard and the folks singing about it to the tune of "My Way."

Of strictly 1:1 song parodies like BK is talking about, I think Homer & Jethro were the best in the biz.
In 1952, they did an EP of Frank Loesser parodies, I think Frank may have even helped them rewrite some of these. He did write the liner notes.

Ah - I had forgotten Homer & Jethro.

And of course Allan Sherman is right up there as well.

George, last night I read that the West End production of CABARET will transfer to Broadway next year, starring Eddie Redmayne.

Maybe that’s why the rights were pulled.

I enjoy every parody by Randy Rainbow.

He is so clever and witty, and he also has such a good voice.

There's no such thing as too much Sondheim!

I agree!

Truly detestable.
I mute it immediately, along with pretty much every commercial these days.

My Zelda
The Ballad of Harry Lewis
Shake Hands With Your Uncle Max

Thanks, JRand!

It’s a pollinator garden.
All of the flowers attract hummingbirds, butterflies and bees 🐝. The bees are mostly bumblebees, who are very gentle, and frequently fall asleep inside a blossom, drunk on nectar.

Much as I did not want to step out, I had to gird my loins - ouch! - and go to Staples. When I stepped out the front door to the sidewalk, a young man was walking toward Broadway. I stopped him and asked if he would hail a cab on Broadway and send it down to me on 82nd Street. He said he could do that, and five minutes  later a taxi pulled up in front of my building. I got to Staples and all five scans worked today.

Now the bad news. This week was the third package with tracking the US Postal Service has lost in the past four months. What the fat hell is going on?

By the time we left for Keith’s appointment it had warmed to 54 degrees,  much better than 38 degrees.

George, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has a cast of 9.

A funny and touching musical by William Finn.
I’m a big fan of his work, but realize that some are not.

I had totally forgotten that I was to have my HVAC serviced today.  Annual checkup.  It was supposed to be at 3, but he finished an earlier appointment and asked if I minded 1:30.

Mind?  I don't think I mind.  I have nothing BUT time.
