What DR GEORGE purchased is called a gazing ball.

For decades they were made of mirror material and the legend was that gnomes in the garden would become transfixed by their own images and you could trap them and get rid of them.

Now of course they are made of all kinds of materials and are a nice addition to any landscaped area.

I washed Dennis, the Smart Car, this morning after going to WalMart and the Dollar Tree+.

Also went to the gas station and filled up the tank at $4.099 using the proceeds from my $100 lottery ticket from a couple of weeks ago. I still have enough for two more fill ups.

I've been going down a rather morbid rabbit hole, reading up on the submersible and what it's like inside, etc., in the best of times when everything's working as planned.

Once I get myself up and at 'em, I'm going to take a quick trip down to Home Depot and get another pair or two or three of those safety glasses so I can do a little work with the weed whacker today.

(That's one of those things I will never again do without safety eyewear. I went without, like a total idiot, for years, but I know how things can fly up at you so fast that you never see them coming.)

There's no question I'll find the others, but I guess it's going to take bringing more of them home for them to make their whereabouts known.

Reading a little more of “From Here to Eternity” helped. I love the book, but I can only take a little at a time. Thankfully I have other books for longer stretches.
