I love photo mysteries like that, DR Elmore. But I wish they could be solved.

We have one just like that of my dad and his mom at just such a place, that he was never able to say 100% which location or year it was taken in.

Of course all those photos need is a movie marquee, and we’d have the answer in five minutes.

This morning, Randy sent me this photo, wondering if I remembered where it was taken. I remembered two things: the park bench and we were visiting a zoo. I cannot remember now if this is in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, or Kansas City.

I don't think it's Kansas City; that was August 1956, and I don't think I look 10 years old in the photo. I'm guessing Pittsburgh, when we went to visit my Dad's brother.

Great photo, Larry!

I had another disgustingly great night of sleep.

I slept extremely well.  I dreamed and dreamed and cannot remember a thing about any of it.

It's a gray day here, and it is 79 degrees of temperature.

I am trying to convince myself it is time for a Sam's Club run.

My freezer tells me there is no more ice cream inside, and that is the main reason for the trip.

However, on the way back I can stop at Cook's Roadside produce and load up on fresh veggies, and that is always a good thing.

I'll know soon enough what I will do.

First, I must have coffee.

I dreamt I had escaped from kidnappers, clothed only in a yellow towel, and was trying to persuade some D&D players to escort me home . They were afraid to get involved so I scoffed at them being afraid to go in a real quest and to save a maiden in distress. Also for some reason I was only about 4’10” and they were all around 7 foot tall and teenage boys.

You can bet that a dress rehearsal that requires you to wear to most layers of clothing will take place on the hottest day of the summer so far.....that was yesterday.

The director hasn't posted his notes yet.....I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

No calling for lines tonight....we're on our own.....the actor was a little better last night.....but sometimes he leaves me no place to go.

And I have to ride up the elevator - which involves me opening and closing the doors and then running up a flight of steps and coming out through the doors up on the platform and take a bottle of whiskey out of a globe liquor cabinet and THEN talk to him through a speaker.....and he talks so fast he's waiting for me to talk as soon as I get out of the elevator....

slow down, Buster!

I did not read Fifty Shades and had no interest in the movie. The only thing I have seen Jamie Dornan in is Barb and Star Go to Vista del Mar, and he was fun. But the movie was pure silliness.

The sequel to BK's lampshades movie will involve buying pairs of sunglasses.

DR Rodzinski, your time with your friends sounds delightful.  I have never seen the view from the revolving restaurant.

Topic of the Day:  only because I watched it when I was probably too young to see it (it was on HBO and I watched it on my little TV in my bedroom when I was in probably early high school ::) ):  The Harrad Experiment, and what a coinkydink, starring Don Johnson, father of Dakota Johnson (star of Fifty Shades of Grey) and Tippi Hedren, grandmother of Dakota Johnson, and in an uncredited student role, Melanie Griffith, mother of Dakota Johnson.  It's all in the family!

We have a 90-degree day with high humidity, and ADDAMS FAMILY at the local outdoor theeder has its final dress rehearsal tonight and opening tomorrow night. Holy moly, would I ever NOT like to be among them, schlepping heavy keyboards and amps in and out of the building, setting up the laptop, etc., in this sh stuff. It's one of those times that I'm very glad to have said no to the invitation a few months back.

Just for kicks ..... here's the photo that had confounded my dad. He was guessing the year, as you can see, but he couldn't say what the background told him about the location. One guess was the Cedar Point amusement park up on Lake Erie, but it could just as easily have been something like the Columbus or Cincinnati zoos, or maybe even the Coney Island amusement park on the Ohio River...if it existed back then, but I think it did.
