DR Jrand72 - I know it's too late now, but how about this for an advertising campaign:

"If the play goes wrong, I  don't wanna be right!"

Thanks JRand for that explanation.
Kinda seems like an idea I wouldn’t want to get too big. In the wrong hands, it could get old quickly.

I was wondering about that play series, too, as far as how much difference there'd be from one to the other. I think the Peter Pan one is a no-brainer, but ... well, y'all already said it about how original can they be after the first one or two.

Does it overlap, at least a little bit, of some of the setups in Noises Off?

Yes, congrats to BK!

I wonder if someday there'll be a chip implanted and a li'l LED readout or some such that everyone will have on their foreheads, counting out their posting totals for all to see.

This morning I've been getting familiar with a couple of the songs in The Light in the Piazza because I'll be playing at least the title song for someone on a recital thingy in August, and maybe also "The Beauty Is".

Holy moley, this music doesn't exactly play itself. You gotta, like, read the notes, man.

Access-a-Ride was two rides from hell today. In both trips I had to share a ride with another passenger.

The first trip down to East 22nd Street was on time. The passenger who was going to Fifth Avenue and 15th Street was a problem. first of all, he was mostly a speaker who mumbled so I understood less than half of what he was saying. The driver was very cautious, and for some reason took Fifth Avenue - a very heavily trafficked street - so we moved at a snail's pace. The other passenger kept berating the driver for being too slow, for being incompetent, and I was afraid the driver was going to evict us both, It did take forever to get to my destination.

The HMO is on East 22nd Street, and construction had most of the street in front of my HMO closed off. It was a lousy and long walk to get where I was going once I was dropped off.

The second ride was on time, and thew passenger I was reaveling with was going to West 75th Street. Instead of going to the West Side,m the driver took Madison Avenue, the uptown version of Fifth Avenue, and it took over thirty minutes to get from East 25th Street to East 65th Street to cross through Central Park to the West Side. The passenger was dropped off first, so it took me about 45 minutes to get to Staples It's been hell today.

Carlin Glynn has died. She was the original Miss Mona in Best Little Whorehouse. And Mary Stuart Masterson’s mother.

Well NOISES OFF is a bit different because you meet the actors first...and watch them rehearse the play.....in the GOES WRONG series you just see the play.....

But how wrong it can be done is certainly well represented on YouTube.

I do not claim under in circumstances that we are definitive- however except for a couple of bozo moves by the expected parties - we are true to the direction.

Thanks to all for the comments.

I shall be off in a moment for performance number five.

Our leading man Chris has said on Facebook that he has a bit of trouble with his voice.....so I am taking him some Satori....which probably won't do much actual good - but I have seen it work miracles psychologically.

Carlin Glynn has died. She was the original Miss Mona in Best Little Whorehouse. And Mary Stuart Masterson’s mother.

A college friend was the wardrobe mistress for the original production of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Carlin was a beautiful and gracious lady, and she and Henderson Forsyth were absolute perfection in the show.

Back in 1978, I believe we were the first show to ever do a Noises Off/Play That Goes Wrong thing. End of act one and some of the biggest laughs I've ever heard. The reason it worked so well was, we first saw it done perfectly. The bit, a Victorian murder melodrama, lasts maybe ten minutes. So, the audience has seen it all work. Then opening night, everything that can go wrong goes wrong. So, they know where the mistakes are and that's the fun - they know how it should go and they see how it goes off the rails and how the actors deal with it - including sets that fall, guns that don't fire and then suddenly fire when they shouldn't, all of the stuff that came later. I don't know of any show anywhere that did it before we did, but there sure have been a lot since. Just like in 1981, long before all the musicals that meta-referenced other musicals, which continues to this day and which has become a winky-winky bore, we had a musical number called Ode to the Musical or I Hate Musicals - yes, long before Ruthless - which made fun of other musicals.

Does anyone know this? Noooooo. Does anyone care? Noooooo. But we were absolutely ahead of our time.

A good question would be, what is the last movie I saw in a theater that was not a cartoon?  I guess Paddington 2.

But what’s the last grownup movie I saw in a theater? I cannot even recall!!

I saw Avatar 2: The Way of Water in IMAX 3-D. :)
