The island of Maui is on fire.

I thought it was in one area.  I just adjusted a post on Facebook to a friend I thought might only be dealing with smoke.  I see now that power is also out in a number of areas.

I saw a similar report that mentioned the fire was in Lahaina, which is not near my friend.

I was correct, my friend is dealing with heavy smoke but not fires.

I liked Lahaina very much, despite the crowds of tourists.

There was an interview with a resident who said that the boats burned and that the harbor was gone.
I understand the boats burning, but figured the harbor would be fine.

Wouldn’t the fire be stopped by water?  🤔
