From Bruce:
I wasn't sure WHAT to make of dear reader Ron's post to me.
I didn't think he was being snarky at all. It was simply his take on your comments, and then he shared an article that offered some of the details you mentioned were missing in the news. I found it interesting, but then my news here has been more limited.
Not intentionally snarky at all. I appreciated your frustration, Bruce. All of that panic buying preceded the storm's arrival. This is true everywhere hurricanes are predicted to "possibly" hit. Stores run out of stuff because everyone knows that if they need something after being hit, it won't be there. Locally, schools are automatically closed and major markets limit the volume of goods folks can buy to avoid such panic buying.
I couldn't tell you all the locations the storm hit, because the news did not say, as you noted. It did affect parts of southern California away from LA.
Weather guessing is just that, sad to say. Our local weather folks tell us what is headed our way but always say the path may deviate from what seems likely at that moment.
Sorry for any ill feelings my post caused.
