I'll be on my way in a few minutes to the dentist. Thanks to my benign neglect* through the pandemic, I accumulated enough, um, stuff to require a root scaling and planing. I had one before, some years ago. You're numbed for it and it's not painful, just a pain in the ASS. They used to do one quarter of the mouth at a time, now they do half at a time. Should be fun.

*oh, okay, just plain old neglect

Sorry.  That does not sound good.  I still am having trouble drinking water since my crown was put in.

Good Morning!  I've been E&T the last few days.  Days just keep going faster and faster, everyone does their best to keep up for sure.  Nothing much has happened the last few days, although I did take myself to see "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3" last night and it did not disappoint. I thought it was very well written and had a good storyline, although it's one we've all seen before in other films etc, but I thought it was fantastic.  I came home and watched the second movie as well and tonight, I'll probably watch the first movie.

Today - Wednesday - the day off - I'm heading out to get my blood work done and then I'm off to the SF Giants game with the 8th grade this afternoon.  It's always a fun field trip and I'm grateful to be included each year.

Have fun at the game.

Thank you, Matthew, for the movie review. I plan to see it, if for nothing but the Greek scenery.

I have Thomas Mann’s Magic Mountain to entertain me while I wait. I managed to get 30 pages read before it put me to sleep by takeoff.

So, Lauren Bobert bedeviled the bejabbers out of the audience at Beetlejuice — and got booted!

DR George, Denis Quilley played the King in the 1999 performances of Jubilee and the BBC broadcast. HE had played Candide in the 1958 London production of the operetta, and he replaced Keith Michel on Broadway in Irma la Douce. I saw him in London in Peter Hall productions of King Lear and Waiting for Godot, and I have him playing Sweeney Todd on a bootleg of an early 1990s broadcast of the musical. He was very friendly and full of gossip when I was at the Jubilee rehearsals.

I'm pretty sure I have that broadcast recording of Sweeney Todd

I also have him on the original recording of Chess and the 1988 London concert cast recording of Mack & Mabel with Debbie (then Shapiro) Gravitte. :)

Mail at post office was totally trashable.  Yay!

Stopped at Third Generation at 11 a.m. and got fried chicken, rice and gravy, green beans and unsweetened iced tea.

Very tasty.

DR Rodzkinski:   Do you and your family just never eat mayonnaise or do you usually make your own?

I watched a Cook's Country PBS (or America's Taste Kitchen, I forget which) episode where I saw how utterly easy and rewarding homemade mayonnaise can be.

Now, I am not a snob, but I live in "Duke's Mayonnaise" country, and I cannot imagine any being better than Duke's.

Still...

DR Rodzinski, I still listen to Judy Collins. Several of her early guitar-voice albums have numbers - Eric Anderson's "Thirsty Boots" and "The Cruel Mother," for instance - still move me to tears. She lives in the neighborhood, and I used to see her at Barnes & Noble when I worked there. I owe her and The Chad Mitchell Trio so much for shaping me as an ACLU liberal.

I always think of you when I run across Chad Mitchell Trio LPs.

Danelo Cavalcante has been CAPTURED.

I cannot think of any news story I have loathed more, but I do understand the concerns of those in Pennsylvania with whom he may have wrangled.

The area in which he was lurking was an area I spent a lot of time with the kids, being just over the border from Delaware. Glad we missed the shenanigans.

For awhile, years ago, I made my own mayonnaise.  It was good.  Best Foods/Hellman's were equally good so I stopped making it.
