Today, at mid-day, my mother-in-law was transferred by ambulance from the hospital to home hospice care at the home of one of her sons.

Her passing was peaceful. All of the immediate family were there. The hospice workers were superb and kept her comfortable. She had been heavily sedated for the trip, and never really regained consciousness. Which was a blessing, as she had been in extreme pain for the past week.

All in all, a positive  - although sad - experience. She died one week shy of her 91st birthday.

Must write some notes - long day, longer evening sitting through a purported one-act musical of ninety minutes' duration - I think closer to 100 minutes. And they were long minutes.
