Vixmom, would lunch on Nov. 11 be doable?

I think so! I'll double check with WFO tonight. Hopefully there's so ethereal near the theatre as WFO is still in a wheelchair

Say wha'?

I would invite myself along for that lunch, but that's the day of the concert I'm playing in so if I did that I'd have to promptly send my regrets.

And if so, would you be able to join, Elmore?

That's a Saturday? Yes!

It's been a day of interesting twists and turns. I just bought a paper shredder. I really need one.

DR John G, I tried to watch At Long Last Love last night, and gave up after an hour. I liked most of the cast, especially John Hillerman and Eileen Brennan, but I loathed and detested the musical arrangements. I wanted to see Mildred Natwick, but it just got too terrible to endure.

That is a shame you will miss lunch in NY.

We did errands in Portland this morning, including a stop at Costco.

Surprise, surprise, we filled up our gas tank there.  And...we didn't have to wait.

I have never purchased the large tin of Kirkland peanuts as they are likely to go stale before I finish them.  Since I was out of peanuts, and decided the price is still good even if I don't finish the entire tin, I purchased them.  They are pretty good, not my favorite but still very good.

Hi everyone!

It's gotten so cool outside. Yesterday we had our first snow. But luckily it didn't stick on the roads and melted by the afternoon. It's crazy because I was wearing shorts on Saturday.

One of the e-mails I did NOT answer was from our leading lady, asking Doug and I for a little private meeting after rehearsal this evening. She wants to discuss "options" as she's telling us she cannot learn her lines. I know what the option she'll want is, which is to carry the script - but I'm not of the opinion you can advertise this as a production and have your lead actress carrying the script and as I've told her already if she DID carry it, she'd lose her place, her eyes would be glued to to it and you can't even do it as a conceit because then everyone should have one. I have never been involved in a production this far along where so few know their lines. I'm bone tired of it all. This could have been such a great show if we weren't constantly replacing actors and going backwards. And my name is on it as director, not anyone else's. Really feeling beat up right now.

I got cold reading that.  Was your Saturday weather warmer than usual?

Sorry, BK, and {{{hugs}}}. What a frustrating experience. This seems to be what theater has evolved to these days.

I am so sorry MR BK - although it may be too late - there are several APPS that can be used to learn or memorize lines......they can be Googled.

I had a similar experience working with OLDER performers during Morning's At Seven......I have to say I am 73 years old and learning lines is not as easy as it once was......but I did it for The Play That Goes Wrong - the APP helped - but letting EVERYONE down by not learning my lines was not an option to me......  And carrying a script isn't an viable option.

Vibes.

I finally just ended up saying to them "tell the story" if lines get left out - the audience doesn't have a script.  Everyone can keep it going....of course LYRICS are something....else.....

Just tell the story....

I had a good night of sleep, only to open the computer this morning and find an unsettling email that caused me to cancel my Access-a-Ride trips this morning. I cannot reschedule my doctor's appointment until 9:00am.

Oh, no.  I hope things turn out to be okay. :-\
