But getting to eat afterward is the best part.

I like Walter Cronkite.....and Harry Reasoner, to an extent.

My favorite lady correspondent is Cokie Roberts.

Somehow I just don't trust news commentators anymore.....they all seem so self-absorbed and trying to tell what we should think about the news - instead of just GIVING us the news.....especially Norah O'Donal and David Muir.

Don't get me started on the cable news channels.

The Huntley-Brinkley Report used to follow the 15 minute local news on WFBM Channel Six.

The newscasters always credit Frances Farmer with giving them a BIG ratings lead from her show that came on just before theirs.

AND Miss Frances dated Chet Huntley briefly when they were both at the University of Washington.

I had a message to call a 526 area code number. It's a company called Landauer Medstar. They said they had a walker for me. WHAT?

I asked who had ordered it, and they said "Susanna," which is the name of my GP, so I sent her a message askng if she was behind this. I certainly ordered nothing.

I grew up with Huntley-Brinkley, and I always trusted Walter Cronkite. Now, I like Ari Melber, Joy Reid, and Rachel Maddow on MSNBC.

Good to be cautious about that, DR elmore3003. Scams abound.

TOD:

I was very partial to Huntley-Brinkley when they were a team.

Walter Cronkite was the standard bearer, and I was smitten by Jessica Savitch.

Today, the gold standard is Rachel Maddow (although she drives me crazy getting to a point), followed by Willie Geist and Chris Hayes.

I too was smitten by Jessica Savitch.

Holy smokes!  I am home from a lengthy colonoscopy procedure.  While I reported at 9:45 a.m., I wasn't taken in until nearly 11 a.m.

Procedure took nearly an hour because the doctor found and removed 16 polyps.  SIXTEEN.  None cancerous, thank goodness.

He wants me to have another procedure in a year.

Yikes, but I think it's probably for the best.

My cousin Debra was very good about staying with me and taking me to Mickey D's for a hamburger pill after the procedure.  I bought our lunch, gave her gas money, and I have bid her adieu until my next medical appointment requiring a companion, whenever that may be.

I had a very good rest under anesthesia.  Nurse said I slept for more than a half hour afterward.  The anesthetist said I should have come around in 3-5 minutes, but he guessed I needed a nap.

Since I had been up and down all night long, he was right.

Enough talk about all that!

Oh my goodness, sixteen polyps!  Was this your first colonoscopy?  Vibes the biopsies confirm they are all benign, though I am sure the doctor can tell by looking at them.

HEALING VIBES!

Back to Desert Fury. It’s quite competent, except for John Hodiak, who’s a big zero.

Although I'm still scratching my head over what a hamburger pill is.

A prescription hamburger.

I hope cheese and onions were involved.

Some heartburn, but I have no idea why, since I did not eat a single spicy thing yesterday.

It's not always spicy things.  There have been a few times (fortunately only a few) when I've gotten a little heatburn-like feeling after just drinking water!  That's only happened late at night, but why would it happen at all??

DR Jrand73, I hope your day has improved. Mine did as soon as I stepped out onto the street. I had a wonderful time with Joshie today, and the two Access-a-Ride drivers were excellent.

Nice!

Great news about the non-cancerousness of the polyps, Ron...and the needed nap! :D

Good news from DR RON PULLIAM.

When I wake up from my twilight sleep - I always just look at the staff standing around and say:

"....and you were there.....and you were there.....and your were there.....but all I kept saying is 'I want to go home!'"

Yes DR ELMORE thank you - my day did improve as did yours.

EXCEPT we got to O'Charley's and there was a sign on the door that said "CLOSED - PERMANENTLY"

So we went to Agave's Mexican restaurant and I had a very good chimichonga......

I hate it when that happens! ::)

That's happened to me at least three times now!  Quite a few years ago a local Blimpie Subs just closed.  Then just a few years ago, two different Taco Del Mar restaurants closed within a couple of months of each other.  And they were franchises that were owned by different people.
