I somehow managed to survive the day.

My feet are tired.

Had a great time serving up barbecue.

We offered up smoked turkey and sausage, mac and cheese, and fresh green beans with tomatoes. Plus, handmade snickerdoodles.

The clients at the center were appreciative. Some came back for seconds. Others stopped back to say thanks.

[John G.]

That is one of my favorite events of the year.

Dancing tonight went well.

I have seen only a few new movies, but I enjoyed:


Little Richard: I Am Everything
Oppenheimer
John Wick 4
Asteroid City
Juniper
The Lost King
Moving On

Of these, I've only seen Oppenheimer.  I think that that might be only new movie that I saw this year.  Can that be right??

You must have seen other movies, just nothing worth mentioning

You're right.  My friend Margo and I saw Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One.

She's seen all the previous movies, but I haven't...and don't really need to.

Danced a hustle routine with my friend Shiela to I Will Survive that had the crowd clapping along. Such a great song.

Danced a bolero with my teacher, Joy, that we’ve been working on.

Also danced a polka routine with my friend Barbie.

Question for the class:  Do you know the TV series Parks and Recreation?

I didn't. It ran from 2009 to 2015, but I just learned of it and started watching it a couple of weeks ago. As it takes place in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana, I first thought of asking DR Jrand73. But since it was heretofore completely unknown to me, I was curious who else knew it.

It was a huge hit for a while. Made stars of several of its players, like Nick Offerman. I saw a couple of episodes. I always liked Amy Pohler.

Chris Pratt also started on that and now he's Star Lord in the Marvel Universe!

AARRGGHH!!  So do I!  I'm picking up Margo's middle daughter from the airport.

She's coming back from a vacation in Japan. 

[George]

Last year (or was it two years ago), she (Margo's daughter) studied for a whole year in Japan. 

[George]

Fortunately, she's fluent in the language, even though she is Chinese.

[George]

I hate getting up early on weekends.

[George]

But if I volunteer to do so, I must.

So, I have two alarms set AND Margo is going to call...just to make sure I get up.
