So I spent Twelfth Night watching the last of the Christmas movies.

I going to start The Molly Maguires, which I have never seen, but I love the soundtrack BK  released.

I apparently have missed a lot of Martin Ritt movies that I have been catching up on in the last few years.

In the last few years, I have seen The Brotherhood, Nuts, Murphy’s Romance and Paris Blues. The library has a few more I haven’t seen, including Hombre and Pete ‘n Tille, which BK loved.

Maybe after a few minutes of The Molly Maguires, I’ll dream of operating on people’s hands with coal miners as backups.

Facebook has been particularly annoying this week, and it has been more annoying in the past two days.

The ads are a bother.  The posts are often illiterate (although i am sure their births were "legitimate"...or not).

I need a change in my life.

Is there some new ad policy going on this week?

Every other post seems to be an ad...and a lot of expensive stuff is being thrown at me.

Well, rehearsal went fine.  I'll need to write in my lyrics onto my sheet music as I forgot some of them, even though I remembered everything when I went over it at home with the piano before I left.  The girl who is singing something from "Smash" wasn't there, for rehearsal - the one song that I REALLY needed to go over with her before rehearsal tonight.  Hopefully she'll be well and EARLY tomorrow so we can go over it.  Of course, it's overly written and in a bad key (F#) at the end.  I'm sure it will be fine.  There's some good talent in the show, it will be a fun evening.

Michael Caine is a magnificent Scrooge.

That movie works best if the sequence where he sings “The Love is Gone” with his past girlfriend is included. They cut the song from the theatrical run, it showed up on the first VHS and subsequently was cut again, to people’s outrage. I think it’s restored in newer releases. Anyway, great moment from one of Caine’s best performances.

To Frances Farmer followers -

Playbill is reporting that a musical about Frances Farmer seems to be on the way.

"Jill Paice to Star in Industry Reading of Frances Farmer Biomusical BRILLIANCE"

That'll probably be interesting.

I will never watch The Santa Clause without coercion and alcohol.

I've never seen it at all. ::)

A six-DVD set of Disney Christmas movies came in yesterday. I’m starting with the so far, so bad The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. CGI and dreariness. Misty Copland is supposed to be in it.

Here's a little factoid of little to no significance.

Misty Copeland's father-in-law was my UPS delivery man for the final five years I lived in Oakland!!!

That's pretty cool!  How did you find out about that, Ron?

I did not like Nightmare Before Christmas and last time we went to Disneyland, the Haunted Mansion was given a Nightmare Before Christmas makeover, and it wasn’t nearly as cool as the original haunted mansion and I was disappointed on behalf of my kids.

Good question! How would that come up? “Any mail today?” “No but my daughter in law is in the New York City Ballet.”

David Soul has died. Really liked him in Salem’s Lot.

Oh, no. :(

I can never distinguish if a recipe is calling for pecans or pea cans.

They cut the song “When Love is Gone” and then left in the reprise at the close of the movie, “When Love is Found” which makes way less sense without the first song. How idiotic is that?
