TOD Redux:

I have made chocolate, chocolate chess, sweet potato and lemon pies for myself.

I have attempted pecan pie, but never got near what my mom and my Aunt Doris could do with one.  It was so challenging that I'd rather just buy one.

I slept exceedingly well.  And, since it's only just after nine a.m., I did not sleep excessively.  I went to bed a little after midnight.

That sounds really good!

I will have to think of savory pies later.

Boy, did I have the weirdest dream, and it was a twist on one of my regular ones.

In this dream I most commonly find I've been off someplace for several days with a group of people (usually fellow music students but sometimes coworkers from later in life), and it's time to gather our things and return home. The gathering of the belongings is always a central issue and source of a feeling of urgency.

So in last night's (or rather, this morning's) dream, we were about to LEAVE on an extended trip, and thanks to a few details I can at least identify this trip as having originated with the extended sailing trip I took with friends in 1980. Some of the things I was trying to sort out to take were silly, but I can at least say where the idea comes from.

Crazy, no?

Interesting dream.  Thanks for sharing that, Chas.

singdaw, I saw this bit of Pufnstuf trivia on Wikipedia.

"The show's theme song, titled "H. R. Pufnstuf", was written by Les Szarvas but is also credited to Paul Simon. Simon's credit was added when he successfully sued The Kroffts, claiming that the theme too closely mimicked his song "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" "

TOD:

Banana Cream
Cherry.
Strawberry/Rhubarb

Whatever is on the day old rack at WalMart - although my diet forbids pie.

Interesting notes - contrarians are tiresome.

Dunning-Kruger strikes again. We have someone running for president who is obviously in this condition.

I enjoyed reading DR RON PULLIAM's thoughts on Maestro.....perhaps it will show up on one of the services I can access one day soon.

There is a cat on Instagram, Elie the Hallway Cat, I dearly love. She lives in an NYC apartment and spends her time running around the hall of whatever floor she lives on and flirting with the boys who live down the hall. I cannot get enough of her videos.

Apple, pumpkin, and various berry pies would be at the top of my list, along with key lime, banana cream, and one I've longed for for probably forty years or more:  the raisin pie (or was it sour cream & raisin?) at House of Pies.

I do not go for lemon meringue (including meringue on anything, really), coconut cream (except for the cream part), and - I thought I had another unfavorite to name, so maybe it'll come to me later.

DR George, thanks for the great theatrical rarities links last night.

It was my pleasure, Singdaw!

And speaking of rarities, how rare it is to find a cat in its original packaging!

Looks like we got about 7" of s*** yesterday.

I think we got maybe 3-4 inches overnight, and the temperature is rising, so no more s*** is predicted.
