There’s been a hint that they’ll keep Mom for an extra day beyond today.

DR George, I read your post about seeing a friend in person as seeing a friend in prison. That was so intriguing that I had to go back and read it again.

Yikes! ;D No, no prison was involved.  Just a friendly visit.

I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but I was actually born in Alabama. ::)

But in my defense, I was a victim of circumstance...my dad was in the army and just happened to stationed there, and so I have absolutely no familial or emotional ties to the south whatsoever!

And, we left the south within a couple of years of my being born, so there's that.

TOD: Elvis isn't my thing so I don't have any favorite songs or movies of his. But I did enjoy the Elvis movie with Tom Hanks and Austin Butler. My favorite song about Elvis would be "From Galway to Graceland" by Richard Thompson.

We got the Corpus Evita production photos this weekend. Here's one that was used in the online San Francisco Chronicle review. That's my wife and me front and center. She's usually not taller than me but she sure is in those costume heels.

In 1979, my Drama Book Shop cohort Thom Heinrichs and I went to Michael's Pub on East 55th Street to see Dorothy Collins' all-Sondheim show. I think the ticlet cost me a week's Drama Book Shop salary! A sound system recording of the show has turned up on YouTube.

I think you found a great birthday gift for Hilary.

Thanks, again.  I'll take a picture of it a little later.  I left it in my car, which is why I didn't earlier.

Am at Costco. I’m having the pizza instead of the usual hotdog. I am not impressed. It’s kinda blah, even with chile flakes.

That's too bad. :-\ I've always liked their pizza.

For lunch I had a Virginia ham sandwich. Never before have three cats worked themselves into such a frenzy.

I liked Elvis at the start - his songs and his movies like Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock, King Creole, Flaming Star, and Wild in the Country (in which we got Tuesday Weld AND Millie Perkins). And I really like Viva Las Vegas.

That reminds me of an old joke about a new employee being hired because the boss thought he was just out of Yale, but he was really just out of jail.

Boss:  “Where were you during those missing years on your résumé?”
Employee:  “I was in Yale.”
(Boss seems impressed.)
Boss:  “By the way, what’s your name again?”
Employee:  “Yim Yackson.”

My two favorite Elvis leading ladies were Ann-Margret and Shelley Fabares.

They were good with him :)
