You had mentioned that.  I thought there was a second issue.  Thank goodness the new meds are worth the money.

Cotinued vibes for your little girl.

Steve Lawrence died :(  He was 88.  Even more sad is that he had Alzheimer’s.

Was just watching clips of Steve Lawrence the other night. With Eydie on What’s My Line? and teaching Johnny how to croon on the Tonight Show. RIP

Happy Birthday, Maurice Ravel (1875)!

Happy Birthday, Maurice!  And next year will be his 150th birthday!  That's a millstone to celebrate. ;)

The assistant conductor came through and I've listened to the first hour of Tuesday's rehearsal. They're playoing better than Monday, and some of it, to my delight sounds quite wonderful. I expect by opening we will have a first-rate ensemble. The pianist, who had me worried on Monday, is now starting to play out, so I'm happier about that. Marzio Conti, the conductor, is amazing; on top of everything, his patience, advice, and sense of style are so enjoyable to hear.

That's very good news, Larry!

Is it possible that Maurice is one of the 71 Guests now viewing this board?

There's a back-and-forth over on the castrecl list about this HollywoodReporter article.  It's an interesting read for some people here, however anyone might feel about the subject.

Very.  Reading about Signe Lund it seemed there was much to admire about her, and that she would not be a person to support Hitler once she understood the depth of his atrocities.

I've been watching the last BBC adaptation of Vanity Fair. I think Gone With the Wind faces a better charge of plagiarism to Vanity Fair than "Somewhere Over the Rainbow does to that etude.

Why do the Pitt Crawleys address Becky as Miss Blunt instead of Miss Sharp in this latest BBC adaptation?

That Over the Rainbow malarkey - don't people have anything better to do? What's next - Sondheim will be sued for No One Is Alone because it has six notes in common with The Candy Man? It's absurd.

Dinner with the Pearls is pushed to next Tuesday - it is thundering and lightninging and pouring rain here and it's even worse where Barry is - in fact, it's hailing where he is. I just ordered my chopped Eyetalian salad from CPK using my 50% off code. Cheaper than going there and cheaper than DoorDash.
