I couldn't finish The Goldfinch.

After reading The Goldfinsh I have no desire to read The Secret History, plus the blurb doesn't interest me.

I read a list of the top 30 fiction novels.  I have read all bu two on the list.  What I don't understand is why Papillon is on the list.  Shouldn't it be under non-fiction?  I saw the movie and never felt the need to read it.

Papillion is a novel, translated by Patrick O’Brien. Which may explain why I never finished it.

It is called a "autobiographical novel", which to me is non-fiction.

I don't gravitate to books with a lot of drug use.

Under the list of best fiction is a small list of non-fiction suggested reading which does not include Papillon.  I am now wondering if the first list was just to draw readers in order to promote the non-fiction list.  I hadn't read a single book on that list and have no plans to read any of them.  They were all memoirs by celebrities.

I don't suppose anyone has said anything about the man who set himself on fire outside the Lower NYC courtroom yesterday while jury selection was ongoing in the Drumpf trial?

He was a young man from St. Augustine Fl (another story called him a Long Island native), had been passing out conspiracy-based leaflets, and then doused himself with something and set himself on fire. 

He died.  No one is sure what statement he was making other than sacrificing himself over idiotic conspiracy theories.

I hadn't heard that he had died.

I am most upset with the IRS. They tell me my refund should be made within three weeks of filing, and three weeks is now up.

Where the fat hell is my refund?

Maybe it'll be deposited on Monday because today is Saturday?

I just had a nice discussion with Doug about putting "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon" into the ballet score. Then we will have two western songs in the score. I would like to remove some of the "Russian" music in the score and make it more American.

I think it's wonderful that he remains as enthusiastic about further improving the piece as you are.

That really is cool.  Do you know when it'll be available to stream on the website?

DR George maybe if you cook the chicken dinner in the oven and add cashews it will taste better.

It does have oven instructions, but I really don't think that that will help.  It'll need some more radical enhancements to be palatable...probably.
