Just watched the entirety of the Spacey clip. Having only heard BK’s description, and then hearing the allegations, the documentary sounds like thin gruel stretched for maximum salacious effect. It’s such a low standard. Have a high school classmate recount an incident from back then? I can completely believe Spacey was the kind of arrogant guy who forced himself on people. But nobody has shown any receipts yet.

Now, there were a couple things I did not like in the Spacey rebuttal.
Commentator starts on about the “woke left.” Why does someone have to be either woke or left to find Spacey’s behavior, as described, reprehensible?

The term also shows he’s aiming for a certain audience. People who hate so-called cancel culture in principle, that is, people who want to go back to a time when sexual harassment was unchecked and rampant.

Another thing is, they chided some of the accusers for trying to get away by telling Spacey they had a girlfriend or were not gay. I think that’s a legitimate way to try to defuse a situation if you felt uncomfortable.

That said, Spacey seemed basically credible in his recall and admitting of some behaviors. And some of the accusers’ accounts bordered on the ridiculous. “He tried to make out with me, which made me uncomfortable, so I went to a movie with him the next day.”
