Well, it's not all the time, mind you.  But it happens occasionally.  I don't recall it happening when I'm at other sites.

Does anyone else have a problem here, from time to time, when you post a reply to something and all you get after the posting is a blank screen?

I hit refresh and nothing happens.  This sometimes happens when I enter the site.  I click on the daily discussion section and then get "nothing."

Maybe it's just me...but I had to ask.

No, I honestly have never had that particular problem logging on here or after posting. Interesting question, though.

I'd like to see them do "Survivor: The Hindu Kush" or "Survivor: The Khyber Pass" or "Survivor: Tibet".

And I would still like them to do "SURVIVOR: Big Jewish Wedding"

Preferably where at least one set of parents is divorced, one of the affianced is not Jewish, and a sibling of the bride is gay.

Was ASPECTS OF LOVE a hit in Japan? I guess it must have done well enough for them to have made a recording.

BTW, how long did it run in England?

Thanks, DR Matthew. I knew it was a hit but had no idea about the length of its run.

Oh. DR Michael, so sorry to read this. I hope the damage isn't terribly long-lasting. Back injuries can linger and make one miserable.

GOod thoughts that the pain will ease.

The Richard Altman making of Fiddler on the Roof book is sort of the granddad of these, and is still one of the most thorough and one of the best.  Also, there's a wonderful book on the making of Any Wednesday, by its author Muriel Resnick.  I got lots of details for Writer's Block from both books.

LOL.   We've often wanted something like Survivor:  Harlem, where a bunch of uptight rich white people are plopped down in the inner city (I know Harlem is gentrified now, but you get my drift).

There was something on yesterday's posts I needed to respond to.  Back in a mo.

Ah, yes, now I remember--digitally inserting people into photos.  Did anyone catch the hysterical segment a few years ago on the "New Candid Camera" where they did just that (and it was back in the days when that technology was new).  They were offering free family photos at a mall, ready in an hour.  They'd snap the photo, then insert some complete stranger and when the people came back to get the photos, pandemonium ensued.  Funt fils was actually quite funny (not always the case) in this one--as the customers stammered and protested that that person didn't belong or wasn't there when the photo was snapped, he would say, "Yes, but doesn't he look great with your family?"  :)

And as for the Topic of the Day...

Ditto

;)

In particular:

"Not Since Carrie"
"The Longest Line"

And during the heyday of The Fireside Book Club (later The Stage & Screen Book Club), I bought a bunch of those coffee table books featuring a single show: The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Titanic, Rent, The Lion King, Sunset Blvd., Les Miserables, The Who's Tommy, etc.

Needless to say, that is one of the heavier boxes in my storage unit.

I only get the blank screen treatment when my internet connection and/or ISP is having issues.

Of course, I have to ask, "Have you tired clearing your cache?"

In honor of DR Hisaka's B-day, I will listen to the Japanese recording of "Aspects of Love" as I go about my daily business.

. . .and I shall listen to this:

I have a few of those - PHANTOM, SUNSET, LES MIZ. I passed up an opportunity to get the MISS SAIGON book for $5 once at Barnes and Noble. Now I think it's out of print.

In honor of DR Hisaka's birthday, here is a picture of an all-female Japanese theatre troupe (Takarazuka Theatre) who recently performed Maury Yeston's PHANTOM, for which my friend Koji did all the translations.

Yes...cleaned my "cache" last week, thanks.  And have been having a "divil" of a time remembering passwords.

I'd really love for CBS to take the cast of this year's "Big Brother 6" and put them all in the next "Survivor"...and watch Ivette's team lose all the competitions and watch her have fits of hissies and outbursts of hysteria at how unfair it all is.

I've love to see Cappy have his torch extinguished.

I'd love to see April stumbling around in a daze.

I'd love to see Jennifer trying to cope with being hated by her own tribe.

I'd love to see Beau try to make fire.

It would be SUCH fun!

Two unrelated, useless bits of information about myself:

1.  Last week my nephew made me watch NAPOLEON DYNAMITE on DVD.  At first I was thinking to myself, "What the heck is this supposed to be about?"  But by the time the movie ended, I found myself loving it.  I am ordering my own copy this week.

2.  I just had a Milky Way Midnight bar and it was so good I think I'll saunter down to the Service With A Sneer candy shoppe in my building's lobby to get another.
