I don't know about anyone else, but I am REALLY excited about the upcoming pre-Broadway run at San Francisco's Curran Theater of the Elton John-Bernie Taupin "Lestat."

It starts around Dec. 17 and runs through late January, with a Spring 2006 bow on Broadway (if all goes well).

With John and Taupin working on this, I expect a lot.

Anyone else here an Anne Rice/Vampire Lestat fan(atic)?

I'm looking forward to this too, not because it's about vampires, but because it's Elton and Bernie.  Perhaps we could have a Bay Area HHW gathering.... of 2?

Well, I certainly am looking forward to the show.  If all goes well in San Francisco, there's a very good chance I will be in the pit for the show when it comes to Broadway.

:)

*And with a cast with the likes of Hugh Panaro, Carolee Carmello, Jim Stanek (looking surprisingly sexy in the publicity photos), jack Noseworthy, etc...  It should sound great too.

The only decent CD of the Mercury Years with Georgia Gibbs is now $60.   And not a hucklebuck to be seen.

I'm just sorry I won't be able to make it to San Fran to catch the show out there since it runs at the same time as Damn Yankees.  -But if it extends...

Not looking good for doing the demo today, which is actually really upsetting, as I've been trying to do it for a week.  Grant was supposed to be home by two, and he still isn't back.  Then he'll be too tired and he'll try to push it until tomorrow or Friday, but tomorrow I have a hair appointment, and then, if the CDs are ready, I have to go get those and start shipping them.  I really loathe when people don't do what they say they're going to do.

Meanwhile, I've held off eating anything because I didn't know when I'd be going there, so now I have to eat something before I fall over.

Well, the Sale Sign actually said, "10 for $10".  Would you like the other six pints I should have bought?

Alas, it looks like I will be spending tonight indoors.  Wednesday has sort of become TV Night here at Chez Harlem.  -Mainly to watch "So You Think You Can Dance?"  Pizza will be ordered.  Catty comments will be shared.  And there will be some more swooning over Artem.  Well, Faith and Megan really like him...  He's just a bit too young for me.  ;)

It will be nice to have an "easy" evening at home.

Where do you folks find the listings of what's coming out on DVD?

www.dvdverdict.com has a daily list of newly announced future releases...plus really good reviews.

DR Rodzinski, I have been seeing the title of HELL DRIVERS a lot this week, and I don't know why?

It is available on dvd in the UK.

It is available on DVD-R in the US at www.videobeat.com. However it ain't cheap!

A shot with longer hair being oh, so suave (yeah, right! ;)) At one point I considered using that as a resume shot. No wonder I didn't get any work. This was in about 1972 or 1973

And finally, a shot from 1977. I was still at University (I started late, 3 years after I graduated from high school which was 1971). If it's too big I'll size it down.

JFL I look forward to seeing your face on the avatar.  Years ago I had a great photo on my driver’s license, so good in fact everywhere I went men kept asking why I didn’t look that good in person.

DerBrucer great photos!  You were very dashing.  Thanks for sharing them.
We won’t have time for the tram ride.  We need to save one day for Munich.

SWW you appear to be enjoying the cruise.

I just love these old photos.

I have the region 2 Hell Drivers - I probably wrote about it here some time ago.  It's a good little film.

I just wish I knew how to scan.  One of the jokes in my office is that my resume clearly says I co-majored in computers, but that was late 1970's, and I can't do anything computer-related that has any use in modern times.  Luckily, I'm good at taxes or else I'd be up the creek.

The scanner which sits on my desk turned out to have been long since broken when Skip tried to use it a few months ago.  But it is an attractive piece of furniture, so I don't want to get rid of it.   :)

With this crew, shouldn't you be wearing green carnations?

HELL DRIVERS is cool. Great cast, taut story.
But the main thing is I was watching it one night on Turner when the power went off with about 15 minutes to go. I don't know how it ends!
