What wonderful notes!

I am so happy to see that MR BK mentioned Strangers When We Meet directed by Mr. Richard Quine and starring his beard....uh....his fiance Ms. Kim Novak, Mr. Kirk Douglas, Ms. Barbara Rush, and Mr. Walter Matthau.

It is a movie highly recommended by the likes of me......AND Ms. Kim Novak drives a Ford Falcon.....as if.....

When I think of HOTEL, I also think of AIRPORT. That one, too, was a later in life discovery for me, and I absolutely love it.

The play last night (Evelyn in Purgatory) was excellent - the play itself, a perfect cast, everything.

That makes two for two local plays this season in which the casting and directing have been exceptional, the other one being Diana Canova's Moon Over Buffalo. We have good theeder in these parts, but these were above and beyond.

I forgot that STRANGERS WHEN WE MEET also features one of the screen performances of Mr. Ernie Kovacs who is also most excellent.

And I think everybody is acting way above their pay grades....particularly Rush & Matthau.

I need to vacuum this morning after I take the garbage to the basement.

Recalling the somewhat famous line from the off-Broadway play MONEY TALKS which starred Dolores Grey:
Nature abhors a vacuum, and so does my cleaning lady.

LOL DR FREDDIE.

Have you read the "novel" UP WITH THE SUN by Thomas Mallon?

It is the story of actor Dick Kallman and Ms. Gray plays a prominent role in it.....most interesting.

A question for DR Jrand73, since you just op'ned --

How often, in the "post-covid" era, does your theeder suffer from notable low attendance? It almost doesn't matter what the play or musical is here, attendance is deplorable.

Okay, there are indeed exceptions. But in general...

In my new-ish tradition of "Shilling for YouTube views" -

Since it's Cole Porter's birthday.

This had been a 2020 parody pitch for socially-distant theater ideas, in this one offering to well-off customers that your high-price premium seat could offer an optional limo to the premium ER. :)

DR CHAS SMITH - our season ticket numbers are down about 80-90 for each season since COVID....and walk up attendance is also down.

We do have sell outs - but many season ticket holders do not show up for all of the shows.

I am not sure that we will ever reach our pre-Covid attendance numbers.....it's just something we have to accept.
