Pretty brazen, even for an actor. Glad you stood your ground.

LOL...well you know how they are once they've done a part in a play!  ::)

Back later!  Everyone have a good evening.  No surprise chat yet?

I forgot to remind folks about THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA on TCM this afternoon. The DVR did pick it up for me, but I meant to mention it last night or this morning and totally forgot about it. I should be able to get to it this weekend at some point.

Back from my haircut and I looked quite coiffed or coiffed quite.

How many of the listed variety shows did I appear in?

I cannot decide what to eat - I may try waiting until after recording the demo.

Still haven't heard if CDs will be ready today, but I'm beginning to doubt it.  They'd better be ready tomorrow and early tomorrow at that.

HE demanded that he have something to carry so that he can get used to handling a prop.  So I went upstairs and got him a nice purse.

I think you should have given him some dumb bells so he could work on his upper body strength!

Heard from the pressing plant.  The Kevin Spirtas CD will be done end of day.  I got rather terse when I heard that bit of news.  She thinks the others will be ready by noon tomorrow, and I've told her that these had to ship by end of day tomorrow and that they've known this for a month.  Apparently, they're not even getting the print on Harvey Schmidt until the morning.  Thankfully, it's not that big of an order, and if the discs are already done, then we'll have a shot at noon, although I'd bet it will be more like three.  If it's three, then I just don't see how I'll be able to get them all packed up and to the post office by five-thirty, but I'll try.  If my shipping helper is here he can make two or three runs to the post office, but I can't even book him until I know what time, and then he may not be able to do it.  I can, of course, ship on Saturday, too.

DRGINNY...did your proposal get where it was supposed to go?

Yes, JRand, the staff member who escorted Elvis out of the building Tuesday afternoon and took him to FedEx was smart enough to check the tracking they provide.  He had arrived in Minneapolis by the time I got to work at noon yesterday.  Whew, several hours to spare!  Thanks for asking.

I started Wakefield Poole's autobiography DIRTY POOLE this morning and am greatly enjoying it. I don't remember who it was here on HHW who recommended it to me, but I'm grateful.

In an effort to become slim, svelte and beautiful before the October HHW meet I have purchased a sleeve of Quaker Chocolate Crunch Rice Cakes as an alternate to an afternoon snack.... I should have saved the $2.19 and simply eaten the styrofoam that came in my last delivery

YUCK

Assuming you only wish to lose a pound or two, those rice cakes may do the trick.

Went to an Italian restaurant for lunch today...Il Porcellino in Montclair Village.

Scrumptious, authentic Italian food.  I had Spaghetti Choccata...spaghetti in a sauce of tomatoes, basil, garlic, red pepper, mozzarella and parmesan.

Truly Scrumptious!

Fortunately, the day is moving along briskly.  It's my last workday this week...a four-day weekend looms.

Gosh and golly.

I'll have four days free to just post and post and post.

No telling where THAT might lead.

And with the extra boost of energy I've been getting from my nasal inhaler...why....the imagination is boggled.

Dang!

For me, it seems the day is just getting started.

But some folks are signing off...or talking about "this evening" as though it were in five minutes....or looking to plan dinner.

Sigh.

Hmmm...I do have some leftover pork loin.  Now what else to prepare....

It's 11 minutes later...and I'm STILL talking primarily to myself.

And I don't even know if that's Rodzinski or vixmom...

I'm having a serious identity crisis here.

Yesterday I was Rodzinski...or he was me...or???

And now vixmom??!!??!!??

Who am I?

Where am I?

What am I?
(shut up, whichever smartass among you was going to answer THAT question).

Whoever you are you're older today in Oz time RLP.  Happy Birthday.

Our news services here are keeping us up-to-date with the horrors in the South.  I hope there are some stories about the goodness of human nature. The press concentrates on the bad.

It's truly too awful to comprehend.

And on a cheeky note, I have to at least acknowledge that, for once, it's great not to be reading about the horrors "of" the South.

As for the press, that organization senses no "news value" in good news.

Perhaps, though, in this case, the bad so far outweighs the good that the proportions are, for now, correct.

Once volunteer relief efforts start having an effect, I'm certain we will get some stories on the better part of humanity.

I had a Popeye's craving, so I had two Popeye's chicken breasts for my meal o' the day.

Waiting (what else is new) for Grant to call.

I don't know.... in "my" world, a Popeye's craving would be.... spinach!

Favourite Variety Shows on TV:

Carol Burnett Show; I even attended a taping in 1974 (OMG -- favourite US expression!!)... 1974!!!) Telly Savalas was guest starring!

Donny and Marie O.

and A Prairie Home Companion with fond memories of guest stars Marilyn Horne, Maureen McGovern and... Karen Morrow!
