I did not sleep well, although al;l three cats behaved very well. Stella, who's lately been sleeping elsewhere, has decided to return to me, Thatch, and Stella. There was no fighting, thank God, and they behaved civilly.

This is a day of suspense: will the IRS refund land in my account tomorrow? I'm sure hoping so!

When BK gets the computer freeze, he usually says it takes a long time to reboot. I wonder if it's configured to open some things automatically, because it seems like it takes an exceedingly long time.

I don't let anything start automatically, and my 2015 MacBook Pro takes 20-30 seconds, tops. But - and it might be a big but(t) - I also keep it on an older OS now (Catalina) because when I got up to Monterey it was notably chugging away harder at certain things. So I sacrifice a few newer bells and whistles to have a stable system.

Waiting for one's computer to "come up" can be one of the more nerve-wracking things to endure. I do need to make more frequent backups, though. I don't let that happen automatically, either.
