Every time I see the name Lorimar, I am reminded of Lori Martin, the girl who played Velvet Brown in the TV series of "National Velvet" and also played Gregory Peck's daughter in "Cape Fear".

I was sad to learn she died at age 63 from a self-inflicted shotgun blast.

Just finished reading the booklet on Rebecca. It’s interesting that Nova Pilbeam was considered for the lead role. After seeing all the screen tests for Vivien Leigh, Anne Baxter, Loretta Young and more, I think Joan Fontaine was perfect. But Nova, who was in the original The Man Who Knew Too Much and Young and Innocent, would have been an interesting choice too.

I always thought she was perfect for the role though I haven't seen the other screen tests.

Lorimar was a producer of the 1984 movie "The Last Starfighter" - and the legal people at Warner Bros. were extremely helpful in helping us locate how to get the stage rights.

I love your musical

So do I!  I've seen it twice (once as just a reading) and both productions were wonderful! ;D

Thanks to you George, and to Jane and Keith, and dear TCB for making that Washington production such a lovely HHW get-together.  That was back in June 2018.

And thanks to you, BK, for all you've done for the show and our cast recording (and even flew to NYC to be one of the leads in a reading of the show), over these many years!

I think I need to get some Mellow tone in again - I slept one hour - not good. Cannot fall back asleep.

Spellcheck or you on melatonin? Either way, I like it.

Maybe he's saying that he needs to hear the song, "In a Mellow Tone." ;)

Melatonin doesn't do a thing for me.  I used Tylenol PM when I need a good night's sleep.

Using PM (Benadryl) regularly is now know to cause dementia.   There are other drugs on that list as well.

I currently have Benadryl sitting out in case I need it.  I feel as if I am fighting a cold.

We went to another beautiful old French town today. Fortunately it lightly rained and then stopped and we enjoyed our time there.  Of course it would have been better had Keith not been sick.

TOD:

The extras on Rebecca
The British version of Strangers on a Train
Some Jacques Tati

I also watched the British version of Strangers on a Train.  I didn't know about it till you mentioned it.  Thanks, DR JohnG!

I'm one movie away from finishing all of Hitchcock's films. Homosexuality has played a role in a handful of them, including Rebecca, Murder, Rope and Strangers.

There's not a cloud in the skies over the Tumwater-Olympia-Lacey area, and it's quite warm right now.

Beryl may be on her way to San Antonio. It amazes me that Orange Junior is having conniptions over the name.

Beryl is my mother's name, and today would have been her birthday.
