Wow, I'm closing in on a rather large new plateau.

That IS a pretty major posting plateau!

Okay, everyone knows Xanadu is crappy, but to have a tap routine when you can plainly see they don’t have taps on their shoes is beyond ridiculous.

I survived Xanadu and the half-hour documentary on it, which may be worse than the movie.

That's a nice house rule.  It can keep the Scrabble game tension-free if no one's challenging anyone!

Our family was never like that. Cut-throat Scrabble only.

The Big Storm we were warned about hit the other side of town. We got no rain.

I think it has been close to a month since we've had rain at my house.

The energy in the election I was hoping for has begun :)

And the racism and misogyny are only just surfacing.

Yup.

And Harris's delivery in her speech about knowing Trump's type was great.

I heard that part...she was good!

The second half of Full Metal Jacket isn’t as good as the first.

There was a joke decades back about the movie they were going to make about Vice President Dan Quayle's war experience - it`s called ”Full Dinner Jacket.”

And now s movie I have waited decades to see. Maybe I should wait more … Xanadu.

I like that movie...mostly because of the music.  I love the songs!

I saw the stage musical on YouTube.

The musical is a spoof, but not quite a parody, of the movie.  They try to make the songs funny, but they're not funny songs.  They're very well written songs from the late 1970s/early 1980s.

Potential VP candidate Gov. Beshear of Kentucky tried out a jab at JD Vance on CNN:  JD Vance has no conviction. Lucky for him, his running mate has 34.

That's a good one! ;D

For the movie, I choose to suspend disbelief. :)

I have to buy some jam and English muffins. I always forget what a nice low-cal snack that makes in the evening hours.
