THE BERRIES

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the berries, you were the berries, and now it is time for to post until the cows come home - they're out there trying to figure out what "the berries" means.

Please think joyous rather than sad thoughts tomorrow at about 7.00pm Californian time as we say goodbye to Derek.  He had a lifetime of stuggle with health issues and still managed to give out so much love.  I'm sure he would rather be remembered for his smile and in happiness.

And the word of the day is: TELEOLOGY!

Smoke on your pipe and put that in!

Tomovoz, my thoughts will be with you and all of Derek's friends and family tomorrow evening.  I know he brought happiness to the people on this site, and I will always remember that.  To you I send vibes of healing and comfort in hopes that you can not only think joyous thoughts tomorrow, but feel some peace as well.

I tend to favour Teleology as a human relationships concept. We meet certain people at the right times for them and for us as we travel down the road.

TOTD: May take a few days to come up with the lists.
I hope I don't miss the boat.

I'm going to try and get to bed at a reasonable hour this very evening.  Perhaps in ten minutes or so.

It’s been raining for three days and nights here in Tokyo, and just now plenty of bell-ringing rickets began to sing (chirp?) in my tiny garden. It’s means... FALL is just around the corner, instead, FALL HAS COME. I now am enjoying bell-ringing crickets’ singing. It’s beautiful and very likes a real-small-bell-ring sound indeed.

Good morning to all.  How nice to see two of my favorite guys, Elmore and Tom.

I'm having a problem with the board.  It's very slow and took forever to let me log on.  I hope this posts.

Tom, you know that my thoughts will be with you and of Derek.  You know how I feel.

Gotta run for the bus.  A new work week begins.

I forgot that I wanted to tell you guys that my boss may start riding the bus with me starting this morning.  That should be fun.  I wonder what she will make it.

Gotta run!

Good morning, all!  Today's a Chicago Humanities Festival day, so I get to look at Harold Arlen songs all day.  I like that.  I have to drop off the cruise singer's charts on the way downtown, and wonder why Tuesday seems like Monday all day.  I don't like 4-day weeks.

DRJRand55, "filthy pirates" is my line; are you pulling a Danny Kaye or Michael Crawford and appropriating all the good  lines for yourself?

TOD:  I never liked boats.
CD:  LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (Giulini/Schwartzkopf), CARMEN (Beecham/de los Angeles), CANDIDE, COMPANY, HAINES HIS WAY
DVD:  TOM JONES, THE FIRST NUDIE MUSICAL, LES ENFANTS DU PARADISE, M*A*S*H, NASHVILLE
BOOKS:  PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, COLD COMFORT FARM, MANSFIELD PARK, The Oxford English Dictionary, Complete Plays of Joe Orton

Good Morning!

It's a gorgeous morning here in Richmond!  And I slept well too.

-And Rudy, Joel and John's toy fox terrier is keeping me company this morning.  Quite a good dog.  -Although he doesn't seem to like music that much.  When we were playing the piano last night he kept making a lot of noise, sort of yelping - maybe he was trying to sing along.  And I noticed this morning when Joel's cell phone went off, he made noise at that noise too.  Interesting, but cute.

Hmmm...

Last night, DR Jose wrote: "Baby is sentimental favorite of mine.  It was my second professional gig, and it was shortly after the run of that show finished that I came out.  And the person I came out to was the guy playing Danny.  I just made so many good friends during the run of that production.  Just very near and dear to me.

And I do like the music too.  *If you want to talk accidentals, just try reading through the flashback sequence in Passion - OUCH!  In any case... There are a few songs I don't like - those "Romance" reprises for example - but the big ballads, "I Chose Right", "The Story Goes On", "With You", "And What If We Had Loved Like That" - even "Patterns" - still move me."

I agree completely. Those "Romance" reprises and the song itself are duds, but I think everything else in the show is terrific music. Don't know what it would be like to play it instrumentally, but for an actor, all of this stuff is choice and the kind of music you LONG to have if you want to EMOTE while singing.

I will always look on playing Alan as one of the most rapturous experiences of my stage career.

DR MattH, re: your comments about not wanting to read about Veronica Mars in the Entertainment Weekly.

Ha, you and I are alike, because i did the same thing (and avoided that section like the plague). But my sis (who doesn't watch the show) said she was pretty sure it didn't say anything about the killer.  That's good, but i'm still not going to read it!

So which shows will you watch? Their online section (ew.com) has 10 shows that they say people should watch (prison break, reunion, how i met your mother, kitchen confidential, my name is earl, invasion, martha stewart, everybody loves chris, 3 wishes, and commander in chief).

Of those I will wtach prison break and martha stewart.  And I may try reunion or kitchen confidential.

But as i said this weekend, there are so few shows that even interest me enough to try them.  I can't remember there ever being a season like that for me in recent years.

So for me so far i have: prison break, apprentice, ghost whisperer, related, close to home (thinking about it).
