In other news, the publishers of FINALE, the music notation software that DR Elmore's partners are expert at, and which has been the leader in Broadway score and parts notation for years, just announced the end of both development and support for the product this morning. Effective immediately, you can't acquire it or upgrade your copy, and after one year you won't even be able to install it on another computer.
I think of people like Josh Clayton in NYC, DR Elmore's friend at Indiana University whose name is escaping me at the moment, Richard Allen in LA who's a power user from years back, and countless other composers, arrangers, orchestrators, and more in many areas of the biz. They'll have their existing copies of the software to nurture and use for as long as possible. But what a shakeup.
