They'll have their existing copies of the software to nurture and use for as long as possible. But what a shakeup.

Yes, it's been a sad day. Prior to retirement I spent several years directly in Finale development, and over 20 years working with the Finale team. The technology I developed will make moving files easier, but it's still tough.

The Marie Kondo "Does this spark joy?" method of decluttering never worked for me.
Someone just changed my entire life by introducing me to "The Poop Rule:"
If this object had poop on it, would I wash if off, or throw it away?

I've had Finale since the 2012 version, and I've got v26 on my Mac now. It's so bizarre to be told I couldn't even upgrade - today - to the last version, if I even wanted to, and it hardly matters now. I'm not an active user of it - I got my greatest use out of it when loading files someone else would send to look at - and I have no library of scores of my own to be concerned about.
