Technically, because of the holiday, your birthday week should be seen as lasting until Monday (Labor Day).

I did find out yesterday that the pair of keets enjoy the music of The Brothers Four very much.

I think they were singing in harmony along with the BF.

Yesterday the gentleman playing the lead brought in the "hospital bed" that is used in one scene - to bring him in after the operation.

As I was talking before the rehearsal I said thanks....and he mentioned that it came from his job.  I kept talking....and then I realized.....and hesitated.....

His job is at a funeral home.....which means....that the device he brought.....is used for......well.....

I stopped another moment....and told him I just realized what he said and he replied...."It's the most action it has ever or will ever see......"

I wonder whether he and his new girlfriend might be willing to break it in.

Just so it's less creepy.

From MichaelG:

Quote
In the movie Disobedience, Rachel Weisz's character visits Willesden cemetery in London, and I thought, "Hey, I've been there!" You can tell a genealogist when the one London location shot he recognizes is a cemetery :).

Since we often explore cemeteries I checked to see if we have been to this one.  I don't think so.  My grandmother is buried in a different Jewish cemetery in London.

Which one? I've been to most of them on my visits. Willesden makes a lot of sense for this movie, both due to its beauty and its location.

Two of my great-grandparents had siblings who settled in London, so I've got lots of 3rd cousin-y folks in the area. I've met several of them on my Mom's side but not the ones on my Dad's side yet.

The romantic goings-on of the cast of FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON could have been fodder for delightful press coverage by an Earl Wilson or Rona Barrett in a different time and place!

This is a ME day.....and so far it has all been about ME.

I had decided that I would do some shopping today.....I decided on Wednesday.

But then yesterday I thought why not just go on Thursday....and have Friday as a FREE ME DAY.

So I did.

Last week, I ordered litter from Petsmart. When I checked on the situation Tuesday, the site told me the order had expired, so I called customer service who told me they had been having computer/shipping issues so they would credit the order and I should reorder. The credit came through Paypal ASAP and I reordered. Since then, I have had two additional Paypal Petsmart charges for the same amount sdhow up on my bank ledger. So, this morning, PPetsmart Customer service and I need to have another talk.

Give 'em hell, HLarry! ;D

The Liberal Jewish Cemetery. Is that possibly the same cemetery.  I googled it and it says Willesden.

So, Customer service sent me two more at No Charge. On Monday, Aug. 19, Amazon sent me an amail saying they wanted that return or they would charge me for them. I called customer service and the younf man I spoke to assured me all was good.

Well, it wasn't. Yesterday, Amazon charged me for those candles, and I had to deal witrh another Customer service rep. They've issuied a credit for the charge. Why are sych simple things so god damned difficult?

Dayum. >:(

Well, the Clean My Mac situation is finally resolved to my benefit.  I'm still screwed over by the Petsmart/Paypal mess, and I'll have to wait it out. Damn.

No, but it’s next to the one I meant, the United Synagogue cemetery. I haven’t been to the Liberal Jewish cemetery, I wonder if I have relatives there too?

Been working on The Spitfire Grill for the couple of rehearsals I'm playing next week, and it's really grown on me.

The little I know of its history and its story is that it takes place in rural Wisconsin. But prior to knowing that, the songs and the scoring said "Appalachia" to me from the get-go. They still do. Am I so wrong? I'm sure I'm not supposed to think that a "rural" sound in music is always supposed to mean it's Appalachian, but...

DR Elmore, do you know this one?

EDIT:  I've never yet seen the original movie, but will make a point of doing so.
