Attended a fascinating session yesterday through work on the modern asylee/refugee experience. Putting a human face on immigration.

Yesterday I received a volume of the six novels that Agatha Christie wrote under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott.

Used copies are going for around $300, but I got this one for under $50.

This morning at 11, a medical person is coming to draw blood for an intensive procedure to look for serious kidney damage., I have all of these foorms to be completed before ther person arrives. What the fat hell is my MRN? I do hate this part of the procedure.

Yikes, vixmom. Can you go on your local Nextdoor or wherever and find someone who can do a concrete job more cheaply? Cost seems insane.

Yes, those sidewalk quotes sound insane.

Of course I have no idea what the work entails. But is this a sidewalk on your property, or part of a public area you're responsible for, or what? I'm not familiar with that type of thing.

Vixmom did you know you were responsible for your section of the sidewalk?  Vibes you find a better price.

On top of that, I have absolutely no money. I need work, a substantial job that will actually put money into my bank account. The Gypsy work is something I'm grateful for, but the work is going much slower than I anticipated  the pay isn't great.

Yikes!  Sending vibes to you that this works out OK!

DR VIXMOM I am astounded at this turn of events - I have never heard of a homeowner being charged for sidewalk replacement.

Just this summer there was a lot of that going on in my neighborhood.....by the town....of course our taxes went up.
