When I was in high school, I went to London and saw her in Tom Stoppard’s Night and Day. It wasn’t a great play, but she was. Afterwards, about four of us waited for her at the stage door. She came out and regaled us. She said I won a prize for coming the farthest to see her.

I saw Dame Maggie Smith the one time I was in London in a play titled Lettice & Lovage.....I don't remember the show much - but I remember her.  She was wonderful.

Oh and the tea carts at the interval.

I just looked at the website for an unrelated reason, only to notice that my Safety Last showing is not this Sunday, it's the next one.

Whew. A forty-five-minute drive FAIL has been averted.  :)

A bit of good news, however: 

On Friday the 11th they're "opening" (don't know how long it'll run) Wim Wenders' Paris, Texas which is quite the incredible movie. I just watched it a couple of weeks ago, but no matter - they'll be showing its new 4K restoration, and there's no better theeder to see that in.
