Yes, I loved those ABC Movies of the Week, too. That's where Spielberg's DUEL premiered, too, didn't it? And BRIAN'S SONG? I also loved CROWHAVEN FARM and quite a few others.

COMPUTER ACCESSORY ALERT!

Quote
Mice Carrying Plague Vanish From Lab
Thursday, September 15, 2005

NEWARK, N.J. — Three mice infected with the bacteria responsible for bubonic plague  apparently disappeared from a laboratory about two weeks ago, and authorities launched a search though health experts said there was scant public risk.

The mice were unaccounted-for at the Public Health Research Institute, which is on the campus of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and conducts bioterrorism research for the federal government.

Federal official said the mice may never be accounted for. Among other things, the rodents may have been stolen, eaten by other lab animals or just misplaced in a paperwork error.

Well, if the officials who think infected mice might be misplaced by paperwork say not to worry, what's to worry?

And that wonderful DO NOT FOLD, SPINDLE, OR MUTILATE with Helen Hayes and Mildred Natwick which was a sort of precursor to THE SNOOP SISTERS was also premiered on the ABC Movie of the Week.

Good morning!

I bolted out of bed... Glad I did it. I feel better about myself.

DtM: I haven't heard any chatter about TWO GENTLEMEN transferring. I didn't read any of the reviews, but I heard they weren't all that great. I loved the show, though, and really wish they had at least recorded it because Norm Lewis truly sounded fantastic. So did Renée Elise Goldsberry, who played Sylvia. If we had a recording of HER singing "Night Letter," I might have known that it was "Did you remember you have to say S.W.A.K." Jonelle Allen sounds like she's saying "S.W.A.T" on the cast recording. I thought it was just some kind of kinky reference. Now, thanks to DR Elmore, I know what the frell she was really saying!
I believe they're scheduled to play the new Nokia Theatre on 44th & B'way on Oct. 7. I'd love to see him again...and they're a great group.

DR Jason, did they use "Mansion" or "Howl" in this production?

More summertime weather here for another couple of days. Then, next week, we start to see a decrease in temperatures back to the cooler air we enjoyed last week. Can't wait for the nights to drop back into the 50s so the house can cool down.

I loved the ABC Movie of the Week!  Such great stories and stars.

The Stranger Within -- Barbara Eden
Five Desperate Women -- Julie Sommers, Denise Nicholas, Joan Hackett
The Girl Most Likely To -- Stockard Channing
Satan's School For Girls -- Shelly Winters
Tribes -- Jan Michael Vincent
Dying Room Only -- Cloris Leachman

Gosh, I could on and on.  These films need to be packaged onto DVDs!

Good Morning!

Well...  I have to admit that I did have a few moments last night where I creeped myself out (after seeing "The Exorcism of Emily Rose"), but I slept well, and no bad dreams.  And at least I didn't wake up at 3:00am smelling something burning...

And how did you sleep DR Jason?

I'm not sure what you mean...?

"Mansion" is one of Valentine's songs but there was a substitute song called "Howl".  When we did the show at school, I remember that the director had the actor playing Valentine try out "Howl" but he didn't like it so we stuck with "Mansion".  Just curious...

DR elmore - I saw "L'Auberge Espagnole" when it originally came out in the theatres.  A very fun and funny movie, imho.  -And there's something - well, someone - for everyone, as you will soon find out. :)

I feel ill...queasy tummy...dang I don't want to be sick for the weekend

Of course I haven't taken my thyroid supplement since Monday so that may be the problem

When I went to the doctor Thursday last week for my sinus thing he took blood because it was time to check my thyroid levels ( I had a tumor that required the removal one of my thyroid lobes about 15 years ago, several months after that the other lobe pretty much ceased working so I have been on a thryoid supplement ever since)

Dr called me on Monday and said my test levels were showing as way too high which could cause cardiac complications and that I should cease and desist taking the medication forthwith and go have my blood tested again Wednesday morning, which I did. (he wanted to be sure the results were accurate and not a lab foul up or the result of theover the counter decongestants I had taken)

I called yesterday for the results and the office was closed with a message saying they would be opened Friday morning.

I called this morning and the message now said that they were closed and the office would be opened Saturday morning!

I don't think it would make any sense to call the covering physician becasue without the test results and my records he can't advise me as to whether to start taking the medication again or change my dosage

BLECH!!!

I'm now quite enjoying listening to Disc two from The Look of Love the Burt Bacharach Collection three CD set with the colorful beautiful singers and songs.

DR Hisaka - I bought that set when I was doing a Bacharach revue a couple of years ago, and it's one of the sets I return to on a regular basis for casual listening.  And the liner notes/book is nice too.

DR Jose: Everything survived, though the icing had melted a touch and I'm not sure about the banana pudding. It should be OK, right?

I slept quite well, though I did wake up around 4:15 and took Berneice off. Not because I smelled anything burning - I just took her off for some reason. Honestly, I didn't give the movie any further thought once I got home, so I wasn't creeped out at all. I'm now doing a little research on the "real" Emily Rose - a german girl named Anneliese Michel.

Oh! "Mansion" is the "nothin' like a sublet" song. They did that one.

I put the pudding away in the fridge first thing. I left the cupcakes out on the counter (in the box) for my roommates.

Well, I can't speak for Mr. Prince, but I have a coaching at 3:00, and then I'm seeing some show that's part of the New York Music-Theatre Festival (NYMF for short - which is pronounced as "nymph") - I think.  Just waiting on word on the tickets.

Does anyone remember the very first Movie of the Week?

"Seven in Darkness", with Milton Berle (and Red Buttons IIRC), among others (Lesley Ann Warren maybe?), as blind survivors of a plane crash.  Loved that one--still remember them trying to get across the broken bridge.  :)

Another vintage 1969-70 ABC series (imported from the UK) that I'd love to revisit is "Journey to the Unknown."  I still remember the roller coaster opening and can hum the theme to this day.  I especially remember the episode with Vera Miles (I think--maybe I don't remember, LOL) trapped in the library after closing with the ghost of Jack the Ripper, or something like that.  OK, I guess I definitely don't remember.   :P
