DR Freddie - I would say our songs didn't have as strong a beat as that.

From wikipedia:

"Spirit in the Sky" is a song by American singer-songwriter Norman Greenbaum, originally written and recorded by Greenbaum and released in late 1969 from his album Spirit in the Sky. The single became a gold record in the United States, selling two million copies from 1969 to 1970, and reached No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 where it lasted for 15 weeks in the Top 100.

We went to an Italian restaurant. We started off with shrimp in a lemon butter sauce and fried calamari. I had lamb chops with mashed potatoes. Dessert was lemon blueberry pie with a topping that was like a heavy meringue mixed with cheesecake. I didn’t eat the topping.

From what I can tell, 90% of me is fine and dandy. The 10%, after researching each thing, is all because of the fifty pounds I put on that I cannot seem to take off. My glucose level is a little higher than it should be.

Which are - pre-diabetes. Now, no one in my immediate family has ever had diabetes. They say it may never happen, but to bring the glucose levels down, I must get a little exercise every day and eat healthier and less red meat. I can do that. I'm perfectly happy with salads with chicken or shrimp or whatever, fish, I always eat vegetables if they're on the plate. And certainly knock it off with the late-night eating.

I gather all this is very common if you're packing extra weight.

That is THE most common thing with pre-diabetes. So, change of lifestyle. I'll do omelets, I'll do salads, I'll do faux chicken stroganoff, I'll try to do less pasta and potatoes and bread, if I do early evening snack, I'll try to do shrimp cocktail shrimp, I'll try to stay under 1200 calories, and I'll start walking more. That should all help with weight loss and lowering glucose level.
