But the minutes I got up I had a call with a denist recommendation close to here, so I got up, got dressed, and went over there for a 12:30 appointment. Insurance will only cover some of it, which is too bad, but better than nothing. After perusing their In Network DDS' and looking at feedback, I was not comfortable with any of them. This guy was really good. He said because the two crowns were loose for so long, my gums there were horrifying and a huge amount of tartar sauce had built up.

So, he numbed me up but good (still numb), got that nasty tartar off that entire area, re-cemented the bottom crown, and put in a temporary top crown. Then I go back in two weeks and get the permanent and then after that he'll do a really serious cleaning, then we can discuss the bottom center tooth that's now crooked and what to do.

So much novocaine but he was very good about it. I can't even really drink well at the moment as the entire left side is completely numb.

He still suggested not chewing much on the left side until the permanent is in.

I'm going to drive to Gelson's shortly and see if they have any soup I like (hoping for the creamy tomato) - I'll get that and then something easy to chew - not sure what that would be, though.

Went to Gelson's and got a couple of slices of turkey and some stuffing. Couldn't even finish the two slices of turkey. Stuffing was good. That's it for food.

I can't believe I left James Joyce's The Dead, story and movie, off my ghost story list.

I really enjoyed the Broadway show.

The musical version?  For some reason, I have two copies of the script. ::)

We’ll see how powerful big pharma’s lobby really is if they try to outright ban vaccines.

I can (kind of) understand anti-vaccine mandates, but to outright ban vaccines does not sound like it'll withstand any legal challenge...hopefully!

While I was out running errands this afternoon, I had plans to pick up something entirely different to eat, which never worked out, so I had something I haven't had in a while.

At McDonald's:

The double (yes, double) quarter pounder with cheese, with extra onions on the burger, large fries, and large Coke. (I always ask for extra onions because, for one thing, it's just better with them, and the burger comes out fresher when they have to do something special with it.) I went through the drive-thru, parked, and ate it all hot and fresh in the car. A welcome respite. And a shameful indulgence. And thoroughly delicious.

Glad you enjoyed it, ChasSmith.  The double QP is just too much for me.  I do like most of their other double burgers with the small patties, though.

My pumpkin roll has been baked and is in the frig for tomorrow.  It really isn't a convenient dish to take to someones house as I need to keep it in the frig, then put it on a plate and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

Yes! With Christopher Walken. Was always sad there was no cast album.

Yes DR GEORGE & DR JANE I think paying only in the department has gone the way of the dodo bird.

My experience happened in a store that was closing and when I was told the circumstances - I just put my armload of items on the counter and walked off.  And I am sure that made a clerk's bad day even worse.

After I read last week about DR ELMORE reading the book by Grover Dale, I ordered it from Amazon.

It arrived today and I spend a nice 5 hours or so reading it.

Lots of gaps, but a nice look at the inside of some terrific shows.....and folks.

I'm enjoying the series TRACKER, even though every now and then, meaningful mentions by the starring character of his childhood feel awkwardly shoehorned in.   The show stars Justin Hartley from THIS IS US.

It does look to me like Justin Hartley may have done  quite a bit of working out and muscling up between Season 1 and Season 2 - or maybe they're just dressing him to show that off more in season 2.

There is at least the Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre cast recording, so there's a recording of the show but that's not the Broadway cast. :-\
