I've only finished three books this in 2024.  The aforementioned Directed By, Kritzer World (finished January 3rd), and Don Quxote.

First is a funeral mass for Rosemary Kowalski, who died last week at 100. She was a caterer who made a huge impact back in 1968 when the World’s Fair was here. She stayed active up to the end. Sweet woman.

They make me think of being at really old people’s homes in the 1970s. Often you’d be offered a candy and go to pick one and get a sticky glob of 26.
