Last year, when Costco had their Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, I found (and posted) this recipe:

When it says "FINISH THE CHOCOLATE FILLING" - does that mean finish eating it or finish making it?

There is no peanut butter pie here.       :)

It was quite good for being so easy.

Also, here's the vegetable box info:

https://borderlandsproducerescue.org/programs/redistribute/borderlandspowwow/

And this is the one we used today. I just got an ad for this, so we tried it out for the first time:

https://www.farms2tableaz.org/

These both sound like wonderful programs.

I had to look up “yo soy sum”…it reminds me of Chinese broccoli, which I love.

DR Iris, I thought it was a different friend in Phoenix.

No, but my Sedona friend frequently drives to Prescott for Trader Joe’s and Costco, and to Phoenix for medical appointments.
Her favorite place is Lee Lee International Market, one in Peoria and one in Chandler.
She is a fabulous cook.

So much loud yelling and partying going on in my building right now.

I know it has something to do with the Ravens winning, but I don’t follow football.

Sometimes it seems that I’m the only one living here who doesn’t!

Only two more pages to write and I'll do those right after posting the notes, and then for once I can get to bed at a more reasonable hour.

Iris, sometimes he finds ten-pound chubs of ground beef, which I break down and freeze.

Also, I buy flour, sugar, and nuts there for the baking I do for the groups I host. Like 50 pounds of flour at a time.

Reminds me during the worst days of Covid, we were living in Brooklyn and a restaurant supply store adjusted its business to deliver food to homes. I ordered from them a couple times but the quantities we got were enormous. Like a bag of 30 chicken breasts. But it was great during a time when Fresh Direct was overwhelmed.

Took my boy to climbing class, then we looked for a pastry shoppe in Surrey, BC that is run by a pastry chef my kids like from the baking game show “Is it Cake?” He won the recent Christmas all-star edition. A Sikh gentleman who seems very nice. When we found the shoppe, there was a sign on the door that they were closed for a couple weeks for a post-holiday staff break. As I walked back to the car after reading the sign, Mrs. R said the TV chef peeked out the door to see who was there. So that’s my brush with fame for today.

Then we had dinner on Granville Island in Vancouver with an old family friend of Mrs R, whose wife utilized Canada’s MAID program last week, which is there legal medically assisted end-of-life treatment. The woman had the same disease Celine Dion has. So we toasted her and celebrated her life (our friend’s wife, not Celine, bless her heart). Then I drove us home.
