I was a skinny kid, too, but when I hit high school, parts of my body started growing out of proportion - and not the parts that I WANTED to grow out of proportion, either. My calves, thighs and forearms are really big. No, REALLY big. I grew up being called Popeye. When I hit grad school I had to take ballet and jazz, which trimmed me up and toned me, but since moving to NY, I've been eating what I can afford (usually fast food) and haven't been able to afford dance classes, so I'm out of shape and I've got a layer of fat around my middle that's awfully stubborn.

I'm developing that edgy "I'm about to go on vacation and can't concentrate" feeling here at work.  Tomorrow will be a long day, I'm afraid.

Bye for now.

Can't tape Will and Grace for you, George. Sorry. We are taping the premiere of Smallville for a friend who is out of town. Smallville runs from 8-9 and Will and Grace is on at 8:30 (EST).

I shall shortly be on my way to John Marshall High School for Career Night.  I have no clew what I'll be doing, since I don't represent a college or anything, but I shall endeavor to impart words of wisdom such as, "What is it, fish" and other such bon mots.   At the very least, perhaps I'll recruit a young'un or two to join us on this here site.

Keep the home fries burning until my returning.

DR George I will record Will And Grace for you, and if nobody else has it I can send it to you.

What a totally crazy tv night with Survivor, Alias, The OC, Will and Grace and Smallville all on at the same time.

I just read that the touring company of DOCTOR DOLITTLE is closing this Sunday. What a surprise! It was scheduled to play here in November. Guess the producers of the local Broadway Lights series will be scrambling for a replacement.

DR Matt, I posted the notice I got from Des Moines Civic Center yesterday.

DR Danise, I know how you feel about pre-vacation at work. I think this afternoon I became a little annoying with my joy at being able to leave for a week.

Good Evening!

Two comments about today's auditions:

1)  I work with some amazingly talented, generous and caring people.

2) The "depth" we had in our choices for Gloria, Meg and Lola was truly "deep" - and fortunate.  After all was said and done, even if our first choice for each role happens to turn down the offer, we will still have a wonderful, and ideal cast.   And we'll still have a great cast if for some strange reason we have to go to our third choice.  The quality - and competition - was that good.

:)

I had to pass on seeing "Mildred Pierce" tonight with DRs Jason, Ben and Ant.  After being "in session" all day, I just needed a nice quiet evening at home.  And that's what I'm doing.  -Just catching up on last night's TV viewing courtesy of the DVR - "So You Think You Can Dance?" and "Lost".

-Oh, and I may have to borrow someone's tape of "Will and Grace" tonight too.  ;)

LOST

I just watched it via Tivo myself.  Very good.  Curiouser and curiouser as Alice would say.  I have to say that it is my favorite show by far.

Well, goodnight folks.  I shall see you in my dreams and soon in person.

Safe travels to all.  DR Hisaka, I hope you have a wonderful time in LA.  I only sincerely wish that it was all of us in one place so we could smile and laugh and dance the horta (I know I never do spell that right) but maybe that will happen one day.

Nighters all!

DR Cillaliz - did you read that book, too?  My book group read it several years ago and I've wanted to go see that hawk ever since!

No, I didn't read it, but one of my best friends is a big birder and said,"This time, don't forget to try to see the pale male" so, I told her I would.

I got a lovely surprise package today - the hardcover of my book, here much earlier than they said it would be.  It looks great, so now maybe they'll actually get my order here before the due date.

That is very exciting!! :D
